Fascinating wee car, love it!!

Out of interest, does it have a 4 or 5 speed gearbox?
Has a 5 speed box, the gear change is really crisp which is rare on these 5's due to the amount of linkage involved as the gearbox is right at the back of the car

Fantastic car.

Always loved these (and a lot of other road going/homologation rally cars), only ever seen two in my life, a pearl white one parked on a side street in Glasgow in the late 80's and a red one that came into the Renault dealer where i worked in the early 90's.

I bet a beautiful example like that is worth some money.

I am just guessing, but assuming something in the 35-50K range with history?

Will have a new set of TRX's on soon, the tyres on currently are very old and the rubbers gone hard which renders them useless

Keep guessing lol, the market for these cars has gone mental over the last 12 months......

Unrestored original standard examples are extremely rare wink

Do these have the gear stick coming out of the dash as the cooking 5s did ?

There is a pic of interior further up, and from that pic I'd say no.

Awesome machine OP. Never seen a road car in the flesh, my imagination was sparked as a young 'un by the 5 turbo in Never Say Never Again (imagination also sparked by Kim Basinger smile ).

IIRC there was a dealer fit kit to bring them up to 210bhp or thereabouts, but can't remember what the standard number of horses were?

EDIT: Wikipedia says 160bhp.

You could spec 185bhp, then 210bhp all the way upto 350bhp but costs got ridiculous at that power......

I bet! There's no ECU as such, is there? Power delivery even at the lowest state of tune must be fairly brutal!

What level of tune is yours, Dazza?
