The T2 was at Cholmondeley Pagent of Power today in the care of the Detailing company as I couldn't take it personally, apparently created a huge amount of interest & performed faultlessly on the Hill Climb smile

Also let a local photographer take some pics last week as he's been asking for a while now.......

Hi there,

Just to let you know I was the original owner who put most of the kms on your little brown Renault 5 Turbo2. I drove it as my everyday car in Northern Ireland for 5+ years from the mid 80s. I looked after it very well and strove to keep it original. It was my little write-up which was previously posted on this forum. I'm really chuffed to see the work you have put into it, and that it remains in the UK. I'd love to chat to you about the car's history. I still have some old photos of it (and even some parts). Please let me know if you'd like to make contact and how that could be done. Best wishes with the car. It was a really special part of my life when I was the tender age of 22 :-)

Regds,
Gary.

That looks awesome and such an unusual colour I'd typically hate on anything else

The T2 was at Rockingham Speedway yesterday for a feature with EVO car magazine

Couple of other special 5T's attended as they wanted a comparison between standard, modified & race car......all the cars were amazing & impressed the EVO team

Just spoke to the original owner tonight, the T2's had an amazing life & it's mainly down to him that it's stayed in such good condition smile

Wow I have just discovered this thread, an absolute stunning 5. I have never seen one in this colour combo.

Have always wanted one since I was a teen but hasn't happened to date, this needs to be crossed of my bucket list.

Just WOW,
Iv'e haven't come across this thread before, what a super cool car in a proper early 80's colour, not seen one in years, I tried to compete against these in the mid 80's in my MK 1 Mexico, beat a few but only because they were French and broke down, mostly though made the rest of us look amateurs. bow

Love this smile Were these always LHD?

If you're in Cheshire as per your profile, would you mind telling me who you used to detail and paint (skirts, etc)it?

Awesome rolling shot, then I looked closer and saw the canopies in the sky - where was this taken? I am a skydiver myself and have jumped at a few DZs but don't recognise that road!

I bought my all-silver 185bhp one for 6 grand in 1994. Sold it to Spain in 2008 for about 12 grand, which effectively meant free motoring for 14 years even including the maintenance costs. Probably worth a tad more today. laugh I put the funds towards a Subaru 22B.

Fabulous cars and yours has the all important (but awful) standard seats and no sunroof. Glad to see the Gotti TRXs being reinstated too. People moan about the Michelin prices, but you want it to be right.

Great thread! Love the seats!!!

In response to the chap above... did you end up getting the 22B?

Detailers are in Knutsford & called Cheshire Auto Detailing, the rolling shot was taken somewhere near Buxton

What a car, loving the period looks of this, great colour. Appreciating the attention and care going into restoration and maintainance too, top work.
