The engine is supposed to be very strong, but to replace it would cost at least double the market value of the car which is why I went down the audi warranty route. S6 Avant is lovely and very rare. I do like the whole fast estate thing, but the S8 got better write-ups at the time and the equipment count is on a different level.

It would be for the dog so there is no chance of getting an '8' as I'm sich of her climbing all over seats and generally making a mess! She is being confined to the boot!

Are there any time (e.g. 10yrs) or mileage (e.g. 100k) limitations to the Audi warranty?

I do feel like I need this engine in my life but there are also some nice looking BMW 550 Tourings and Merc E500 Estates out there!

Sorry if I've taken this off topic! You don't find many people with experience of the the V10 outside of the R8!

It is worth ticking ticking the V10 box. When spun up, it has a note which is very distinctive - quite unlike a V8 or a V12.

The engine sound especially with the Miltek is very very addictive, I often turn off the amazing Bose HIFI and open the windows to listen to the engine!! torn between to two!! it's a very very nice place to be indeed, I had a meeting in Hove yesterday and took the S8 to stretch it's legs (I live in London) went the A23 but came back through the country side I'm still smiling it's just so so composed and does exactly what you ask of it.
