Hello All,

I have been asked to start a thread on ownership of this car model so here I am. I will write up spec, price paid, etc when I have all the docs in front of me. More to follow!

Ok, here's what the last owner spec'd which I have 'inherited:

E61 535D A SE Touring M57 3.0D
Monaco blue
Black Dakota leather
18'' double spoke style 247 alloy wheels
auto box
sports steering wheel
Bootlid auto operation
Pano sunroof
ext fold mirrors
sports seats
front and rear seat heating
headlight wash
extended interior light package
DAB radio
Exterior trim high gloss shadow line
Anthracite headlining
Visibility pack
Luxury Pack: no idea what is in this
Media pack: ditto above, other than DAB
Wood trim

For purely reference sake, the car was purchased through a dealership; 6.5k on the clock for £18495 + road tax. Includes full BMW 1 year approved insurance.

Impressions after 1000 miles:

-Most comfortable car I have ever sat and driven in
-Engine provides linear performance when needed meaning responsibility when using right foot a must
-Has returned 42.8mpg on a recent 500+ trip which was a mixture of A/B/M roads
-DAB radio ok so long as you have signal
-Potential Pano roof leaks worry me so will keep on top of maintenance of drain hole/remove the offending clip
-Wood trim doesn't suit a BMW!
-Alloy wheel type completely change appearance of the car from my just sold 525D
-Steering feels different to last one
-IDrive nav system is good but has (for me) two main drawbacks: 1. You can't put full postcode entry in 2. It fails to show (or I don't know how) speed limits and possible cameras so portable Garmin is superior in that respect
-Dealer failed to change oil and filter on 120 point check which went from saying 6000 miles till change to flashing an oil service after 400 miles. Dealer agreed to rectify the moment I alerted them
-Lane leaving alert waste of time unless you are 70 and prone to falling asleep at the wheel; mine switched off, until I am 70
-detailer will clay bar and wax car soon, after which I shall post some pictures of......a car smile

Other than that, still very much in honeymoon period. Am off to Northampton tomorrow so will report back on mpg via B and A roads.

Any questions, please ask away!

Seems quite a regular occurance at the moment, maybe the forum needs to be renamed to 'Readers Cars Gallery' or similar?

MPG update:

Yesterday was a roundturn of 249 miles across spirited B roads and a long A14 drag all the way and back to Wellingborough. Traffic on the A14 was sub 70 with a fair amount of distance keeping from traffic ahead so a constant dual carriageway speed was not possible.

Overall MPG was 41.9 from a high of 43.4 on inbound journey.

Again, sports seats best I have ever sat in.

One minor glitch occurred on a roundabout where I took a gap from stationary at a junction: the car revved very high but didnt change gear for quite a few moments which caught me by surprise. All corrected itself shortly afterwards.
