I am still in two minds whether to put them back on or not, the WR1 didn't come with fog light covers on at all so they are aftermarket but do look very cool. The driving lights are very cool as well though the lenses have blue tinted lenses that are more or less the same colour as the car which looks good in the flesh... Still in two minds haha...

A little pic of the exhaust I hope to get in September time...

Didn't realise the WR1 was that poweful, I thought it was the same 305hp as the PPP.

Also prefer it without the fog covers smile

It's the fastest production Impreza I believe, the cosworth doesn't count as it wasn't technically off the production line... The WR1 had quite a lot of trick stuff, I have heard it described as a prodrive parts bin special but I don't think that's entirely fair :-)

Just for information the WR1 is for all intents and purposes a 2004 STI with the following upgrades:

PPP - more power/torque
Prodrive suspension
PFF-7 18" wheels
Black alcnatara interior
Ice blue paintwork
Driving lights
DCCD (which hadn't been fitted to any STI in the UK range up until then)
Mesh grille
Special gear knob, mats and numbered tax disc holder

It's a cracking car, but unless you hanker for any of its unique features a 2005STI with PPP is pretty much the same car, but has a wider rear track which makes for better handling.

Lovely mate, I had an STI PPP in white smile great machine but cost far too much to run imo! Hope I don't offend but to my eyes your drivers door looks a different shade to the rear door and wing?

And the colour was a WR1 only colour on UK cars and there were only 500 of them
in the UK.

No its something that I want sorting it had a front end re-spray for stonechips etc and they resprayed the door as well when they did it and the colour match isn't the best probably due to the rest of the paint being older... So that's one of the jobs I want sorting when I find a sprayer who can match the back door...

I've had two scoobies, 2004 and a 2005 wide track, both were tuned to around 350bhp and we're great fun to drive, I don't think anyone could tell the difference of how the wide track handled on the road VS the non wide track, the DCCD also doesn't come into its own unless you're on a track or driving way too fast for the road . . . and I'm not a slow driver.

WR1s are lovely, look great, have all of the right toys and their rarity make them that little bit more special than a regular STI/WRX.

Smashing car, don't go too wack on the mods now. You'll regret it in a few years smile

I am not doing anything that isn't easily undoable, I think an exhaust that's rare on a rare car is an ok performance mod as I will keep the standard prodrive exhaust as well. The suspension needed doing because the standard shocks were knocking, performance wise I don't think a remap is an issue as it will only be mild to make the car drive better if anything.

Cheers,

Carl

Lovely car. Burnt tips on that exhaust will ruin the look imo though. It look silly.

Titanium doesn't have to be rainbow coloured.

Personally I think that exjaust looks horrid.

Car looks lovely as it is.

Your right it doesn't, it does do that with heat though and it's just showing that it's titanium I guess... To be honest I blow hot and cold with that exhaust and just keeping mine, the main thing that makes me want it is the fact that it weighs 5kg's

Cheers for your input though, it is took on board and I know what you mean about keeping it as is :-)

Went out for a blast on some local country roads this morning and pushed on a bit... I cannot believe the composure and grip of this car, such a weapon down A and B roads... Kept a couple of lads on superbikes honest much to there shock when talking to them!

Had a bit of a change of direction on the exhaust front when a piece of rare Japanese exhaust fell in my lap... It sounds much raspier than other scooby exhausts and doesn't have the same really deep rumble at low revs but more screams at the top end of the Rev range...

I think so, sounds pretty distinctive as well much raspier and sounds more free flowing... From the back of the car you can hear the turbo a bit when you blip the revs pretty awesome!
