I think 1.2 and 1.4 are the only petrols available in the UK. Peeps on the Yeti owners club seem very happy with the small petrols though, I think the DSG masks it's shirt comings which would be glaringly obvious with a manual box.

I like the interoir but it's not up there with a MQB platform Audi or VW, but neither is the price. My one issue with it is that the leather seats seem to be giving me chronic lower back pain no matter what position I set them in. I'm looking at Physio sessions to see if it's jus highlighted an underlying problem but if it is the car my Yeti ownership could prove short and costly. frown

Yeah, the 1.8 was dropped with the change to EU6 engines which is a shame. The CR170 diesel is the most un-dieselly diesel I've yet driven though. It is significantly more refined than older PD units and offers respectable thrust over a decent slab of the rev range so don't discount it unless you really have a pathological hatred of the black pump.

It's no hot hatch but the turn of pace it provides is best described as 'amusing' smile

Shame they've dropped it too!

It's the reason I will be keeping my current 170 for the foreseeable future. Still, that will not be a hardship.

In reality, the 140 has been replaced by the 150. There is a 184bhp diesel coming later this year apparently.

Interior schminterior. You sound like a teenage girl smile

The ONLY substantial problem with the Yeti is that there is not a decent petrol engine on offer.
Do you mean like a teenage girl whose idea of haute couture is Primark? Seriously, the biggest problem with the Yeti is that to buy an Elegance, for example, Skoda want £25K+ for a cheap and nasty interior. Plenty of plus points like the engine, driving position and plenty toys. However, if I'd spent that kind of money buying it instead of leasing it then is it unreasonable to expect something less scratchy and generally low grade. Wooohoo, it's got a leather steering wheel and weirdly smelling leather interior - doesn't gloss over the fact that it's a bleak cabin for that kind of money.

...and it's a total arse to reach the roof to wash it! smile

Now that should be fun.

A friend has just taken delivery of a Leon Xperience (or whatever it's called) with the same Haldex 4x4 and 184PS engine, he loves it.

Glad there's some more Yeti-owning PHers around smile

The Yeti left the Horne clan on Saturday after 17 months and 30,000 miles. It was a good car in many ways but in the end I just couldn't love it. It's been replaced with something far more sensible for doing 25,000 miles a year. A MK3 MX5. laugh
