3k miles at 12 years old?!
Wow!

Had a Panda whilst on holiday in the Algarve in October.... Kept up with local motorway traffic at 120km/h.

This is only a 1.1, but I'd agree with your experiences driving my mums 1.2 (the other one in shot). They aren't a bad steer at all.

This one should be backup to the Metro really, the Minor is SBNO until further notice and even then is getting taken off the daily use for restoration.

The Metro has been for a poke and tickle. Exhaust fixed, serviced and new bumpers fitted (the front one is actually NOS as well). Apparently might need a tiny bit of welding for the MOT by time October rolls around but apparently is very solid. Can't object to that at all smile

Nearly 5 months have passed, no massive updates thanks to being stuck in the house.

The Heap:

Refurbed, upgraded engine and box sourced, I rebuilt a HIF38 to go with it. Got a new more aggressive cam as well. I can see

The Panda:

Went for a run out prior to lockdown, only just failed to fire so I doubt it'll fire after this has ended.

The 100:

Got the front tyres on the Metro, think they needed doing smile Original 1995 tyres to the car, were a tad scary.

Got a new boot board sorted to stop the boot carpet shredding. Also got a rubber boot mat as well.

Went and met a friend, socially distanced, at the Chained Oak and Alton Station

Drivers headlight needed some attention late before....

A trip to Norfolk to meet some more folks.

A trip to the top end of Brum to get some new wheels today. Need a refurb then should be decent to go, pretty much stole them at £20 a corner.

Not a post I wanted to make but it looks like the end of the road for the Metro, it was stolen last night. Sad times frown

Cheers fella. Looks like it's the Panda's time to shine with the Minor still in 736373 pieces. That's better secured but will be getting extra even so.

Update: Car has been found dumped 4 miles from home. Smashed ignition barrel is the only obvious sign of damage, Police have taken it for prints.

That looks like a bargain and such a low mileage too!

Yeah it seems decent enough. Short MOT but apart from CV boots can't see why it wouldn't pass. Only two other niggles are fan speeds don't work (£6 fix on the way) and the clock is dead (who cares)

Any news on the Metro? Have the Feds given it back, yet?

Roverload recovery.

So two of the fleet are now dumped, one failed in service and one a bit smashed up. Good thing is the Metroshed drove onto the low loader and didn't feel completely knackered. Also the Panda is going to be given to my dad as his Punto is not long for this world. 164k though, it's a trooper.

Just catching up on the thread - really sorry to hear the Metro got stolen - gits! Hopefully spares still available and no other damage. Future classic alongside the K11 micra in my view.

As long as it's straight (which it feels like, but getting it checked by someone who isn't an idiot like me) the steering lock + barrel assembly is available for about £75 and then it's just some messing with plastics (new cowl, new fuse box cover pegs) and remounting the passenger side glove box. Hopefully.

It has just been a massive PITA and not great on the mental health during a bloody lockdown.

The story of the Metro is finally at it's end. The car returned, was driving well and had dropped the 25 in for timing belt, MOT and service and all was well, until disaster struck on my way to work on Thursday evening...

Much worse IRL, it's properly bent with severe suspension and A pillar damage. Luckily happened under 1/4 mile from the garage the 25 was at which was luckily still open. Limped it there and collected the 25. I was fine on the night except my knee but since have developed neck, back and arm pain and am on a cocktail of painkillers to make it manageable, which isn't much fun. Mainly okay though, the car died a warrior's death and kept me mainly in one piece.

Sticks.

Very sorry to see that, not what you need at all. I hope you're OK but suggest you see a Dr Monday morning,

Thanks. I've already had a call with the doctor (COVID procedure to avoid face to face unless I start with pins and needles) and am on Co-Codamol and Naproxen and resting.
