Ludicrous performance to have in a hatchback. The aero kit really suits the green wrap. It's very quick off the mark but how does it compare to your previous cars once on the move? Do you get much turbo lag/breathlessness at the top end or does it still feel silly quick when up to speed/in gear acceleration?
1st, 2nd and 3rd are ludicrous! Above that (100+) you do start to feel the lack of capacity. That said, I always felt the previous motors were too much for our roads and you couldn't enjoy them fully until you were in 'ban' territory. I'm really enjoying the point and squirt ability of the A45 and don't really miss the high end performance......... for now!

As for lag? No, not really. This car has no lag, not like the turbo's of old. Simply point and squirt, as above.

3.4 to sixty, 8.6 to 100, that is insane performance, cant imagine with that you come across anything short of a Mclaren, GTR or similar that is anywhere near.
junior supercar contender?
I'd imagine it'd be an awesome 'time attack' car!

Seats look great! How do you find it vs previous metal as you've owned some nice cars there?

Quicker where it needs to be and more usable on the day to day routine. Interior is a big leap from the W204 C63 too!

The only let down is the build quality. Many have complained about squeaks and rattles but so far mine has been pretty sound..... bar an issue with the brake ducts last year.

OK, now I see the A45's potential, I can see why people buy them. Locally bought they're more than an arm and a leg €€€€€€, with not a penny discount from MB Lux.
Being a fully-gledge AMG, it's not on our company car list. frown
Yeah, even here it's double the cost to lease than the Golf R and £10k more to buy than the R. Merc have probably ripped us off with the A45 but ive come to conclude that i don't care. It's like the Golf being a Sainsbury's car...... It keeps the chavs out of Waitrose, as terrible and snobby as it sounds.

Quicker where it needs to be....... everywhere but in ban territory! And cheaper to run too!

The spec of the A45 AMG is much higher than the Golf R. It's also much more powerful and a lot faster.

You pay more and you get more. The badge snobbery will always mean the AMG badge carries a big premium over a VW.

It's not much faster as standard due to the weight, but yeah, you do get more with the A45. If i had my time again i'd still have bought the A45 but i would have looked at the 7R a bit more seriously as they have good tuning potential too! The light weight has already seen stage 3 R's doing mid 11 1/4 miles.

Lovely OP and all credit to you for completing all these modifications whilst still in manufacturer's warranty - gutsy.

That was a great read, and some impressive figures.

Saw one parked up in town the other evening, was grey with the 5 spoke wheels, looked so subtle.. I must admit it made me kind of fancy one.

I'm just not sure I could have one over a V8 saloon? How does it compare? If imagine this std would keep the PPP C63 fairly honest?

Completely agree about bigger engines and not really being able to open them up on normal roads. My old S55 was so long geared as well wouldnt go into 3rd until 90! You really needed an empty dual carriageway to open upn otherwise in a few seconds your tailgating the car in front!

Debating getting my S8 wrapped to be honest, looks tasty!

Very nice car and you sound chuffed with it. For me though, I can't get on with the looks, especially the rear. Its too melty, too frumpy, too 90's-american-everything-must-be-rounded-off-bar-of-soap design.

Top marks on the colour though. Far to many people go for the monochromatic options. A bit of bright colour is a good thing.

Great write up and fair do's that is incredibly fast! Were you not nervous invalidating the warranty etc should it go pop?

Very nice indeed, not a fan of the wrap, much prefer the red, but other than that, looks like an awesome little rocket smile

Will steer clear of these when in play mode biggrin

This is just absurd. I let out an audible giggle when I saw the 3.4 0-60 time. I would kill to drive this. Well done.

I was considering one of these a few months back but decided not to in the end. Yours certainly looks the part!

Now I'm going to have to browse the calendar to see what SS are coming up and hope to see this there so i can have a nose!
