Lovely OP and all credit to you for completing all these modifications whilst still in manufacturer's warranty - gutsy.
You live once! I bought the car as a post-cancer treat and I intend on using it to enjoy it. Actually today I reckon I dodged another cancer bullet. They found a 9mm soft tissue mass beside my bowel 10 days ago following a CT scan. With the lump being beside my previous surgery they immediately had me in for a chat about more chemo and surgery as the cancer was back. My oncologist and a senior oncology registrar wasn't quite so sure and sent me for a confirmatory PET scan and i had thew results today. The mass is there but it shows no
signs of activity and my blood results show no evidence of the presence of anything bad. I will be having 6 rounds / 12 weeks of chemo to be on the safe side and probably keyhole to whip the remaining lump out afterward but it's a weight off my mind knowing the measures being taken are a precaution rather than a treatment.

Great write up and fair do's that is incredibly fast! Were you not nervous invalidating the warranty etc should it go pop?
As above. They can't get me pregnant!

no one bothers you until they hear the performance exchaust and then it is to late.
I met you at Silverstone it was red then some great figures from the upgrades.
I have had mine nearly 5 months and I am very pleased with it

How is the ride quality on these - is it as bad as the press made out? As a daily driver is it acceptable. Would be interesting to know if it is any worse than Golf R / S3 etc.

Awesome thread and car. Enjoyed seeing your car at Vmax, although this is the only shot I got.

It is fine but do not go for the AMG sports suspension as an extra
As well I went for 18s not 19s.
It is smoother than the GT86 I had

It's absolutely fine. Better than My RS6 and better than the C63 the A45 replaced. The M5 was a different league though! The press take a opinion based on the demands of a paying competitor manufacturer. The reality is only found when you drive it yourself. Obviously the 18" wheel option will ride better than the 19" option but the difference is tiny and the larger wheels are in no way crashy or uncomfortable. As a daily driver it's fine. Very comfy indeed! Compared to the Golf R / S3? No idea. I can only assume they are one and the same on the road.

Glad you are still enjoying it. Any plans to add power?

That performance is absolutely outrageous!

I do see quite a few around here (Edinburgh).

I really like the 4 door version myself - a really good looking car. It's good to see Mercedes back on form with many cars in their range at the moment.

Exceptional car and an interesting read, one of my fave so far on here. The only one ive ever seen is around here in Cardiff, a 22 year old had a grey one as a birthday gift form his dad the jammy git.

yours must be an absolute riot to drive! Well done.

ive always been intrigued but how do these sound? im guessing its no match for your C63 in terms of noise, but im guessing these sound more fruity than the R's... I found the R sounded like an oldschool 4 cylinder rally car but I quickly got bored of the synthetic noise in the cabin!

Sorry to hear about the cancer OP. However, I can't think of a better treat to see it off with. Hope the rest of the treatment goes well and you can still enjoy this. Out of interest, do you miss the nature of naturally-aspirated V8 or are these just different beasts?

That's probably the best wrap I've ever seen... looks stunning! I'd love to know how much it cost tongue out I've never been sure the spoiler works on these but this is a very cool car indeed man, and something a bit different. I like.

I miss certain elements. Like the easy going and reliable nature of the big V8. You could batter it all day and it wouldn't miss a beat. The little 2.0 4 pot is reliable but it always feels like it's working harder than it's bigger brother. You could really work the 6.2 and it'd barely break a sweat! I also miss the RWD hooligan aspect a little but at the same time i like the reliable traction of the fwd / 4matic A45. The sound is a big change too. I went from booming muscle car to Grp B Rally car. Both are excellent but very different!

It didn't cost as much as you might think. You can always ask Shane at UTWS for a quote if you are interested. http://www.utws.co.uk/

Very very impressed with the 0-100 time... 0-60 nowadays is hampered by traction rather than power but the 0-100 is a very real indication of how fast a car is in the real world on the road, and yours is ballistic.

It kept with the 700bhp Evolve M5 to 80 or 90 (then got blown away) so im quite pleased!

I've got video of the M5 run too!
