This is the replacement for my old Megane R26, and I chuffing love it. It's not a weekend toy, I commute 60miles a day in it, hardcore.

Had some time this weekend to give the car a proper wash and take some photos as I've been too busy driving it and enjoying it.
Just a few quick snaps, nothing extravagant.

Lotus Elise S2 111S, so 160bhp in a 725kg tin can. Short ratio box and a 2bular exhaust sat on Nitron suspension means it's an absolute riot to drive.
I've got the soft roof on at the minute, as let's face it, driving around attracting attention makes owning something like this even more worth while. (plus the females love it)

If you could click on a few links so my views spike, I'd be grateful

A great car, well done for using it as a daily- top bloke/Ph points. It will either be one of these or a TVR for me next. My Boxster S (with M030) is far too civilised for my liking. Look forward to seeing how you get on with it

That looks a very nice S2 set up. Its kind of a 135r with the close box, uprated dampers and wider (front) OZ's albeit in a better colour than the 135r's were available in. Oh and a bit more power.

Spot on, enjoy!

I understand it's a bit mental to daily, but it costs about half what my R26 cost to run, and it equally as fun. Sod it biggrin

Looks very nice mate. 725kg I didn't realise they were that light!

They're not unless you start pulling bits off them. An S2 will be 760-780kg. My early S1 used to tip the scales at 730kg at 20L. Now, with a VVC engine installed and a few other replacement parts, it'll be another 5kg or so.

Half the running costs of an R26?? You'd be mad not to use it as a daily! smile I'm thinking of getting an R26 at the end of the year but the costs are putting me off slightly, how wallet-draining are they to run?

I do about 1200 miles a month and it was 29mpg average, coupled with the prices for parts and servicing it wasn't too bad. The Elise makes it seem mega expensive, though.

Great car, but I'm biased!

Has it has a close ratio box fitted? The S2 111s came with the long box as standard. 5th in the CR box is 20mph per 1,000rpm.

Yes apparently, short ratio but with a longer 5th. Got a receipt for it at home, I'll check it later thinking about it.

Nice! Great tyres too!

I think the arse would look lower with a normal shaped rear plate maybe?

Love the colour scheme, back in the day i had one just like it on Gran Turismo haha!

Best of both worlds! Enjoy smile

Looking v nice Feirny, I know we're talking 4-5 years ago now but I used to attend the TOPO meets back when I had a 172 cup, you attended in a Trophy if I recall, I'm sure you've had a motor or two since that but I bet this is an amazing drive compared to the ol' Clio's (still a hoot to drive though themselves!)

I remember mate! I had a Trophy a few years back, had a Fabia vRS, RB 182 and a Megane R26 since then.
This is the best car I've driven aside from the Trophy, this may surpass it but there's time yet.

Reminds me of my old S2 111S from about 6 years ago. OZ's, Nitrons and a load of other trick bits. Good, honest and fun car that.
