I think this might be quite a Marmite car.....

My Parents bought this new July (2014), and I was mightly disappointed to find that it basically has no luxuries in it! After owning it for about 8 months, they decided it was too big (!), so I got rid of my Juke Tekna and took it off their hands! I'm not finding I'm missing any of the luxuries at all that my Juke had and I'm enjoying the ride.

I have some plans for it, namely taking it to stage 2/ecu remap. And get rid of the damn run flats....

I like these more and more, however i don't feel white shows them off in their best light.

I think i am right in saying the engine in these is unchanged from the hatch? How does it feel performance wise? Do you notice the AWD?

I'd have loved a red one.

The Engine is same as the hatch, so with the added weight I guess it'll be a touch more sluggish - I've only driven a normal Cooper hatch and this has plenty more oomph than that did. The AWD is well tested on my commute each morning, a right turn onto a main road would always send the traction control on my juke crazy in the wet - I don't think I've even been able to get any wheel spin with the ALL4 (maybe I'm not trying hard enough).

They have better proportions than the new five door MINI. They weigh a bit too much but do have at least some of the verve / go kart feel you expect of MINI. Look forward to hearing how it performs post your tuning plans.

Wife has a Copper Cooper S (2wd). Looks great with decent colours as thats what MINI is about.

We had some stuff (chilli pack - so gets xenons and big 18" turbofans) and the black lounge leather. Wish i had specced visual boost for the radio though. Decent family car with good turn of pace and reasonable MPG.

I still love the car even though it's rather underspecced.

I've made an addition to the back, can anyone spot it? getmecoat

What kind of MPG do these get at motorway speeds? Can i ask what you paid?

My Mrs is obsessed with these and im thinking about getting her one. She drives a little 207 at the moment so it can't tow my track bike. Thinking about getting one of these for her with the addition of a tow bar...assuming they could handle towing a motorbike without too much difficulty.

I think it was about £24k.

My MPG is averaging about 35 mpg:

I must admit to treating the accelerator like a digital input though!

These are a marmite car and unfortunately I just don't get them.

Mrs Surveyor has a new Mini Cooper 3 door hatch and its great so I'm not anti-mini, but these aren't very 'mini' and the styling with the mini features is awkward as a result, like a fat man in a tight suit comes to mind! I appreciate the styling is a personal thing, but I can't help looking at what else can be had for the same money.

With an RRP starting at circa £25k plus, for that money an Audi A3 Sportback, VW Tiguan, or decent BMW 1 series offer the same quality in a much better aesthetic package IMHO.

Friends of mine tow a single horse weighing 800kg with a 400kg pony just fine with an SD auto. It's right on the limit though and I think autos have a higher limit. It looks at little unusual amongst the sea of big 4x4's but it hasn't been stuck yet!

I tried one of these when my own cooper was in for a service. You definitely feel the extra weight of that body but the ride was a bit better. Always thought that it would benefit from the JCW tune or an aftermarket one from the likes of Lohen.

In fact I think I'd rather have one like yours than the Works as especially in mumsy white its a bit less obvious. At least with minimal spec it should be a bit lighter. What toys do you feel are missing?

James, the car and plate were my parents. They.ve got my plate now.

Hence why I didn't have much choice with the car!

I came from a Juke with heated leather seats, satnav, decent radio that was iPhone compatible, cruise control, multifunctional steering wheel .

I now have to resort to using an aux cable for music.
