As much as I love the JDM car I've always thought the 'massively specced' thing is a bit false. There's not that much difference between a JDM car and say an Anniversary edition....

Anywhoooo, the car looks lovely. Just some general TLC and it'll be a nice one!!

Can I ask which auction house did you use to source this please?

What was your experience like? Thinking of importing something similar especially for JDM.

I didn't have any dealing with the Japan side, as the UK importer did that.

I did use the following site while I was looking, which is great for checking what's coming through over the next week......

It's actually a welcome back. They were made in Swindon and shipped out to Japan - that's why the JDM cars have Union Jacks on the boot lids smile

Must have annoyed the Swindon workers making these massively better specced cars, which the UK couldn't buy!
Ah yes of course!! Welcome home then! smile

Tell me about it, I dont even have the fecking thing yet biggrin Not only that, but I sold the Mini 2 weeks ago!!

Sadly, the importers father passed away and understandably it took a bit of time to sort things out.

I can report that it sailed through its mot with no advisories and is now thoroughly waxoiled. Just waiting for reg docs to come back. Pop the number plates on and that will finally be it!

Final cost as follows for interest to those thinking of importing:

Hammer Price £3832
Fees £1368
Taxes £ 890
Shipping £ 875
Delivery from Newcastle £ 200
Registration £ 55
Underseal £ 100

Total £7320

Security system will be additional - these are never included in the established importers prices either.

Cripes.

That's an expensive way of getting your hands on a sub 4k car!

Mind you, residuals are reasonably strong on JDM EP3's, so you may well get a decent chunk of that back at resale.

It's a reasonable price for a 35k mile EP3.

Have a look and see what similar mile UK cars are going for - it's about the same. Except I've got a JDM car for it smile

On another note, I found this interesting video racing an EP3 and DC5 on track. Conclusion being the EP3 is at least as fast as the DC5 and in fact quicker out of the corners. Bonus biggrin

There selling the newer front lights on one of the big parts companies for £90 each.

Think it was euro car parts.

The headlights are suffering from the usual EP3 cloudiness. I've got one of the Meguiars headlight restoration kits, so will report back how that goes. The jap spec cars had HIDs anyway, so hoping that's all I need to do to them!

If it fails, I will probably have to resort to a new set though frown

I'd like to see the EP3 Xenons, are they projector type?

I've just bought some Premier Recaros for my car, just like the JDM ones but in red/black.

I'd do a cabin filter and maybe AC cleaner beforehand also (both cheap).

Work (dealer) have invested a lot of time and money into de-smelling cars over the years and that's the first product that seems to sort it properly.

I've just looked back at the first pics and no, they're not projectors. Does it definitely have HID's as your headlights look identical to my UKDM ones!
