Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V

How does it compare to your subaru?
Straight line its not as quick, but then the scoob was running 320-330bhp, so when I have the Lancer mapped I'll report back. The noise is nice for an I4 but not much beats the sound of any flat engine. However the handling is a different story. It just feels so light on its feet and agile its crazy. Most of my previous cars have been souped up hatches and now I really understand the difference between 'on paper' fast and 'real world' fast. My Focus ST had more power but wouldn't know which way this Lancer went.
Also loving the fact needs nursing when cold and all the other classic car foibles that make driving them an event
I'd love a Classic Impreza for a DD to go with this.

Nice car! Always been a Scooby man, want to try an Evo but from what I've heard re: fuel range and servicing intervals it would break me
They're generally very reliable, but are undeniably heavy on fuel, and occasionally dreadfully expensive, maintenance wise. I was putting 4 tyres on mine at every service ( 4.5k miles! ) at one point in it's early life, but that's the downside of the way they like to be driven. I ran an Impreza alongside the Evo for 2 or 3 years, very different cars in their approach to handling.iacabu said:

Cracking colour.
Thanks, took some tracking down to find an FR in Alor Blue. So, went for a hoon around Yorkshire with a few local PHers.
It became apparent that now it was running full boost there was a misfire under full load, so booked into Noble Motorsport to have it looked at.
The result - a healthy 265bhp with the misfire at 6.5k, so its lost 11bhp in 17 years, not bad going! Misfire is suspected to be plug related - main suspect is the importer fitting plugs with too small a gap when it was serviced.
For anyone in the area I can't recommend Noble any higher. Great guys with none of the usual tuner nonsense. Car will be going back to them for plugs and stage one mods when funds allow.
