Lotus Evora GTE
Discussion
I am loving these. I saw one near Aberdeen a couple of times and start looking in to them a little. Then I bumped into (not literally, thankfully!) another at Gleneagles. A quick question on the Lotus OC got a great response and it turns out there are four GTE in Scotland, including one in full carbonfibre. They use carbonfibre rather liberally. Very cool.

So that last one is £115k
Just lovely, and a seriously tempting proposal at that price point I think..
How do the informed PH members feel about this car vs the Cayman GT4, both limited, similar money..
I'm not very informed, but I wonder how tempting that price is? Just lovely, and a seriously tempting proposal at that price point I think..

The GT4 is from Porsches GT division so going by the last ten (?) years or so it's probably reasonable to say the prices will stay up for a little longer. What about the Lotus though, how have the prices of their special editions held up? I think it is a lot more of an unknown quantity.
Vales aside and even driving impressions aside, I think the GTE is a far more desirable car. That much rarer and in my eyes that much better looking.
That is the best looking Lotus and one of the best looking cars, full stop, I've ever seen.
Backed up by a proper kerb weight, a hp figure usually reserved for concept lightweights never destined to be made and a manual gearbox in black. ..could this be the first new car I've fallen in love with in 10 years!

Mansory have some talented engineers on their team and they're very good at CF fabrication so it's not surprising Lotus/Bahar used them. You have to bare in mind that it's far more profitable for Mansory to build one off cars for customers than to do anything 'reserved' and mass production friendly.
The real question is if you have an Evora S, how much would Mansory charge to widen it and along with the £5k performance upgrade would it be cheaper or more expensive than the £115k GTE that's on sale?

Mansory do sell a similar body kit suitable for standard Mk 1 Evoras, but not quite as nice as the GTE, being not quite as wide and lacking the beautiful front louvers amongst other things:

I'd quite fancy a 09 Evora with that bodykit and the Komo-tec SC..
