I once had a E90 325i M-Sport, and loved it. Looked miles better than an equivalent SE or whatever they were, and wasn't trying to be an M3 either. Can't see the issue with it personally. Most brands have a "sport" model or whatever, so whats the difference here? Some people are just bitter!
You could argue that an E46 M3 with CSL bits on is almost the same thing, but that isn't frowned upon

M-sport is BMW is a spec level just as SE is, which defines a number of aesthetic and mechanical features. If people want this spec they buy this car, if not, they don't.
I opted for m-sport spec instead of SE for my 330i. That doesn't mean I think I have an M3. Some people buy red cars, that doesn't mean they think they have a Ferrari.
The OP is correctly identifying the spec level of his car.
OP, that is a lovely looking car and probably the best colour BMW offered on a 1 Series.

BTW my 1 series was an SE Dynamic, so they painted all of the rear bumper but I still got the lowered suspension and sport seats (good bits) but it was boring silver (bad bit)! Still it was a great car and the first (and probably last) I have had that was on the current plate when I got it.
So much better than the rusty cr*p I had when I was your age! (But that was more than a generation ago)!

Hi guys,
Just gave the car to BMW to get the brake discs changed as they were all corroded! This was not cheap to say the least! Having the wheels refurbished with them as they gave me a goodish price, a long with a minor detail to the body work. I am getting really bad fuel economy but I think this is due to it being a small engine for a medium sized car. Not looking to do any more to this car because when I finish uni, I will be getting something with a v8 in it! Pictures to follow when I get the car back today! PS Driving in a Teal colored mini one isn't the best courtesy car so won`t brag about that to much!!!

You let BMW do the brake discs? Oooof! Not surprised you're saying they weren't cheap. Given BMW labour rates I shudder to think how much they must have charged for a full set of discs and pads compared to OE parts at an indie.
They will almost certainly just outsource the refurb of the wheels and the polishing to some local place anyway, probably a mobile operation, so make sure to look closely and ensure you're happy with the finish before accepting them. Just because it's being done at a dealer doesn't mean the job will be any good, I know several people who've gone that route and have been very disappointed - specs/dirt stuck under the lacquer etc.

Thanks, he showed me around the whole car before giving me the keys back. There isn't much checking I can do really unless I take the wheel off. Yea he did say that it was 120 plus vat for each wheel, which I am sure I could have got cheaper. But it just saves time and effort this way really.
