So here she is... I lusted after a nice low mileage E39 M5 for many years and finally took the plunge late last year. It's currently on just over 71k with two prior owners and FSH... BMW main dealer upto 45k and specialists thereafter.

After hearing an E39 M5 running a full Hayward & Scott system, one definitely has a space on the bucket list! More pics needed op! wink

Nice. I'm on the hunt for another one after having sold mine in February.

More details and pics needed!

Nice car. I ran one for 4 years.

Looks like it's parked in a cave !!!!! That building looks like it's about to fall down !! Only joking but Your garage looks a bit worse for wear. Is it an old barn ?

Good luck with the car and get some more pics up.

Simon.

Thought I would treat her to a pair of genuine Bosch MAFS, imported these from Germany. Highly recommended, now running smoother and no hesitation.

Invested far too long hand polishing the spokes on the shadow chrome alloys...major OCD.

The 'bat cave' is actually an old barn...we plan to renovate/reclad it once the new house is built...

That really looks stunning Tom. I still remember the Autocar cover from when the E39 M5 was launched - 400bhp was unthinkable in such a normal looking car back then. As the last manual M5 it gets extra kudos from me.

Averaged just under 30mpg on a recent 400 mile return trip to Sheffield... not bad at all for 400bhp saloon... all in air conditioned luxury!

Thanks, couldn't agree more. The styling is muscular yet understated. This is my third 5 series and by far the best all round package.

Bought a new bonnet emblem from Cotswold BMW... the princely sum of about £30.... BMW make good mark up on these!!

I also have the original chrome kidney grills but prefer the black ones as they make the air vents appear larger.

Looks very nice Tom.

I hate it when people call them The Beast though. You've been spending too much time on M5Board!

I agree it is a rather annoying Americanism that they use on M5 Board!! Although it does sum up the nature of the car with its NA 5.0 V8.
