The discs arrived, looking at them it's now very apparent just how knackered the old ones are. I will be off soon for a months break so this all might have to be delayed. It's not as if I haven't waited a good while already biggrin

Another weird fault is the drivers mirror. It 'forgets' where it is, traced to a poor connection. There's a theme here with this car and poor connections. Upon studying the warranty closely I decided not to renew it. Yes, yes, I know it's tempting fate but look at the numbers. The like for like, which I had was zero excess. I mean, what is the point of an excess on a warranty? The price for this was £3000 per year, that's not a small amount and speaking to DM Worx the most likely issues which I'll face in this next 12 months are a clutch and another actuator. Given that the actuator is about £700 fitted this leaves a fair amount in the fund. Given that I am now using OEM but not sourced through the network bits this is also adding up, for price of the discs from BMW I have the discs, RS19's and braided hoses. I wager it's a fair gamble.

I can't help feeling that I am getting the car ready to sell and that someone else is going to benefit from all of this, but to be honest, condition is everything and I wouldn't have entertained buying a poor example myself. Besides, I am very undecided still.

So there's a chance we're going full circle. A 130 has come up for sale and tbh I am feeling myself drawn back into ownership. The M is a great car, really it is, but I am just not using the car enough to justify ownership. Plus with a fun car, which is now really under my skin in the garage, it's being treated like the poor relation.

I still fancy something Porsche shaped as well, so stepping sideways for a while may well be a good thing. Or not.

Decisions, decisions.

Absolutely, actually I've just agreed a deal upon a familiar 130i smile

After a very interesting two weeks the M3 has left with its new owner. It'll take a while to collate my thoughts but it's a strange feeling. I did enjoy my time, and the the old/new 130 is no match on paper but, I don't I know, somehow I'm already over it?

Time to crack on with 130 biggrin

15000 miles odd;

22.9 average
Set of discs/pads
2L of oil
1 x Actuator
Pair of rear tyres
Touch up pen
Battery
Brake fluid service

That's about it.
