Cat, or Dog? Cheapo 1992 Jaguar XJS 4.0

I must have a good drool over this next time we meet up, be good to compare with its successor wot I did own.
I did like the fact that being a british car my XK8 was a working model of Barry Scrapyard Circa 1972 underneath by the time it was 13 years old, and that every time it rained my ABS and Traction Control went all Red Robbo and staged a walk-out.
I took my biggest brave pill of recent years when I had to replace the cheap Plastic Ford nastiness in the coooling system with proper metal stuff. guided by the excellent step-by-step guides in www.Jagrepair.com, they said 3-4 hours and it took me 3.5hours to do and it never overheated again
However I did love it and it made you feel all warm and fuzzy and well-maintained ladies of a certain age would do silly thing on motorways in their Mercs to attract your attention

As for the rotten floors, they seem to be unrotten, but the front valance is lamentable, the arches dire, and one of the front wings looks suspect. Roof, scuttle, and flying buttresses seem OK, but who knows?
One knob missing from the panel (knob in driver's seat still present). Ventilation a bit iffy, but windows go down and up. Modern ish stereo a bit over complicated. Everything else seems to be working, so far....

Strangely I never liked them back in the day as I think I saw it as an E-type replacement but it was never intended that way - the XJS was a different sort of car altogether. And they seem to be aging really well.
I've never had a Jaag, but now I seem to have an urge to look for a manual 6 cylinder one - classifieds here we come!

Knowing my luck, my BL girl would be Nora from accounts at Lode Lane. My dad (BL industrial engineering, various divisions, 1970s and 80s) still talks of her in hushed tones.
Well played, they are lovely things. Use it often - that's the best way to keep them running sweetly. I say this as someone who has had a V12 one tucked up in storage for the past year, and is getting a twitchy sphincter about what it will run like when I finally get the space to bring it back home. They need plenty of excercise, or they get bad habits.

Mrs BV really likes the Jag, which she describes as a slinky beast, so it's sort of her car really.
