Does anyone want a light blue six cylinder auto XJS convertible that has groovy quad headlamps? Looks OK from a quick shuftie. For sale near me, might be gettable for 4500 ish.
Any pics or more details BV? I am mid-search as we speak. Could very well be interested. I was there this morning! The photos are dire, as the car is hemmed in by several vans. The dude selling it was not there to talk to. The interior is blue and looks to be in good condition.
PS: I am on a train and the photos won't upload via the crappy Chiltern Wifi, so I will post them when home, if the knackered old Beemer at the station will start.

Meanwhile I shall witter on about learning to drive an XJS fast on bendy roads. These cars are heavy! I am not sure if the brakes on mine are quite what they should be, or if the type is just a bit under-braked*. You really have to anticipate and set up for the corners well in advance. Mucho old school SIFO, but very entertaining when you get it right, and you can push on very splendidly from the apex.
* My old Interceptor had XJS front brakes, considered a major upgrade on standard Jensen brakes.

The exoticism of the V12 does appeal to me, but they really are a much more difficult and expensive car to own. The AJ6 is such an unfussy thing.
I wonder whether your brakes are functioning at their best. My XJ40 has good brakes for its age - though not set up to be so fierce as is the current fashion, they're genuinely strong. It could be that the XJ40 saloons have better brakes than the XJS of course, since they're a more modern design.

In roundabout 1989 or so... A farmer friend at school was counting his cows (or his Dad's at least) when he came across a photographer, a lady upon the bonnet of an XJS doing a shoot for some gentleman's literature in one of his fields!
They scarpered before a very excited 14 year old could say it was fine if he could watch!
