You said you wanted a restoration to be 100% original....

...they heard "so that means shut lines and paint of a true BL "friday afernoon" car... biggrin
1992, so Ford, not BL.

Joking apart, the people to whom I entrusted the car made a right mess of the work that they did do and failed to do several things that they had agreed to do. Anyone who wants to know which place to avoid for old Jag work, PM me for details.

Thanks, but I have just recalled that PMs do not work (PH seems to be ignoring this problem). My email is patricknorth1 at yahoo dot co dot uk .

It is under a cover and awaiting a re spray. The boot is jammed closed, which isn't fun.

A year has rolled past, and the Jaguar has sat on its arse under a tarp, going nowhere. This was because reasons, but now I am thinking of waking the thing up again. The jammed boot has been fixed, so I can at least get in to charge the battery. I need to find a suitable place to take on a bit of welding and do a paint job, and then sort out a few bits and bobs under the bonnet.

This is making me feel slightly better about the cosmetic state of mine. It has a somewhat rusty nearside wing, a not quite as bad offside wing, and plenty of peeling lacquer. Doesn't look as bad as your XJS Harlequin though!

HTH! Plans are afoot to get the XJS tarted up and roadworthy (cheers v8250), but knowing me I shall probably spaff the fixing-funds on some other heap. Why fix up one broken car when you can buy another one that will in turn become broken?

November almost done, no progress, and I have accepted reality: The Jag is bound for eBay!

I spent all the money I could have spent to restore this car on buying other cars. Also, the Jag has emotional connections with a lost love, and that may explain why I haven't touched it. Someone else can do it up!

It has a lot to do with beauty!

If I was rational I would not have bought two cars this year and would have done the Jag up instead. But rational, what's that?

I had an XJS V12 for a few months a couple of years back. Had to sell it as I had no where to park as we moved flat - I loved that car and thought Id made a mistake selling it. Until I recently had a look at its MOT history only to find it was suffering tin rot judging by all the work that was being done. Bullet dodged me thinks.
They are two sorts of XJS on the market: ones with some rust, and ones being sold by liars or the deluded hehe
