Yours is a beautiful example! White is the best colour in my opinion and the black Cairns alloys suit the car down to a T (The smaller alloys on the DSign and some DStyle models just make the car look far too fat). I like the seats too, although when ordering my original car I was too scared of jeans staining them so went with the white and black watchstrap seats.
Thanks! White certainly suits the space-age look of the car, and the Cairn alloys are a fantastic bit of design. They were originally black on my car, but after the first owner mashed them all I decided during the refurb to go with a high-flake metallic silver, bit different and suit the car in my eyes. I really like the new Sapphire Green that DS now has available on the DS3, sort of half thinking about having my DS5 resprayed in that colour at some point in the future.

For now here's a badly framed but recent pic of my car..

I tuned my car, it was done by remapping, stock map replaced with the new one. Gains are within factory tolerances, turbine overload is max 4%, so no stress to engine elements is expected. Now It has roughly 190hp (a bit above) and 390-400nm torque. Due to automatic gearbox we could not measure it precisely on dyno test, anyhow new map is tailored for figures I wrote.

Car is driving definitely better, power is available on lower rpms and this is what I was looking for (especially when going very slow in 3rd gear and want to accelerate but without kick-down, on stock map you could feel "turbo lag" on low rpm, now it pushes car flawlessly). 2nd and 3rd gears in kick-down mode are amazing, it really pushes this tank like hell! If I go to sport mode it goes even better, but I use sport mode only on hills and mountain roads as it handles automatic gears and engine rpms much better. For urban and motorway/highway drive I use normal mode and it still handles with engine power amazingly.

I still have to monitor consumption, it should be slightly reduced (when driving "normally") compared to stock map.

I paid remapping 250Eur, bear in mind I am not from UK.

Where are you from Mares?
Yesterday i went with the new shock absorbers to a mechanic but he told me it's alot of work(4-5 hours) to change them and here in Germany is very expensive.
I am from Romania, i am thinking about changing them when I go on holiday but I've seen that they are loooking exactly the same as the new ones but don't have any markings on them.

I am from Serbia, my service shop charged 40eur for replacement, it took them about 2 hours. Right rear damper takes time to reach it due to protection sheets around exhaust pipe which have to be removed, this is why it takes a bit longer for replacement. Left damper is much easier to replace, it is almost plug-n-play system, easy reachable.

Where did you purchase dampers? Mine have label on each damper with serial number (although no brand name "Sachs" on dampers is written except on the box, same was with previous dampers, I thought every damper has manufacturer name on itself).

I meant that my equipped dampers have no label on them and they look exactly the same as the Sachs I've ordered. I don't know if to replace them anymore.

I am still thinking about replacing rear bulbs with led. I'd like to know does DS5 has indicator on dashboard when some of bulbs fails? If so, it means led bulb must be with canbus, right?

As for indicator, do you have to install resistor together with led bulb in order to avoid hyper blinking? I read this on some local forum (not specifically for DS5 but in general).

I found in set-up menu "driver doors selectivity" (under vehicle access menu), it is unchecked at the moment. Can you tell me what option is this for?

Btw, I noticed sometimes key-less handle of my driver door does not react on my hand (when locking/unlocking by putting a hand around door handle), so I use back passenger door for this. Most of time my door is working but there are some situations when it is not reacting on my actions. For no reason it starts working again. I noticed this also on front passenger door. Anyone experienced this?

I remember, when purchasing this car seller was at local Citroen service to inspect this car and when they connected it to computer there was error related to key-less handles (3 of them), but after erasing errors via computer they started working. Anyhow, in my case, no need to connect car on a computer in order to remove mistake with handles, they will start operating on their own, but just dont have a clue whether handle itself is problem or something else could be?

Apologies, I may have asked this earlier in the thread but I can't remember!

What's the boot space like? Specifically, what's it like for two dog - one large GSD, one smaller, say a small collie size?

I've liked these since I sat in one in that strange circular showroom Citroen have in Paris. It's approaching time for me to look for another car and I think this would fit the bill *if* I can get the dogs in?

I think there is enough room for them, but my previous owner had dog in the bag and his hair got stuck really deep into the fabric of the luggage compartiment and also I had some at the head of the back passenger that had to be pulled out one by one after vaccuming it. It was a pain in the as.
Did anyone changed anything in their DS5 sounding? (Speakera, amplifier, subwoofer)
I really want to improve it but I have seen different opinions about that but nothing for sure. Some said on a forum that they added an amp to the radio and improved it, some said that they changed the speakers.
Also if you managed to change the lights please let us know what did you bought for number plate and reverse light.

Anyone familiar in difference between denon sound system and standard one? I have standard one which is decent for me, but would like to hear if denon is really advantageous?

Do you think changing only door speakers would improve sound?

First post on here...

Firstly thanks for all the tips, and Muddle238, thanks for sharing your experiences and pics - your car looks really nice.
I've been a huge fan of the DS5 since it was unveiled and finally got myself one back in January 2018. A 2013 2.0 DSport.
I found myself here from googling the poor ride quality and am pleased to see that there is potential to improve things relatively cheaply.
I am very tempted to fit the Sachs shocks myself, although i am a bit nervous as I have never worked on suspensions of any car before. I have done some tinkering around with cars in the past so I'm not a complete newbie but this machine is a bit special to me so I'm afraid of messing things up. For example, I've done plugs, oil and filter changes, bled braking systems, etc on other cars but on the DS, the only things I've tackled were fitting a spare wheel winch and upgrading the nav/radio firmware and maps. :-)
I will probably go ahead and buy the service and repair manual so that should answer my questions on the shocks, but I wanted to ask a bit about your experience of replacing the shocks.
Approx how long did the job take start to finish?
I have a socket set anda torque wrench but I don't have a bench vice. I'm struggling to work out what is that required for? (apologies if its really obvious...)

Finally, I have the regular sound system and while it's OK, I think it might benefit from a sub-woofer and maybe a speaker upgrade. Has anybody on here retro fitted a sub. Is there cabling provided in the boot?

Nothing else needs replacing, the Sachs shocks are a direct replacement and can be done in an afternoon at home providing you have a good socket set (plus 21mm and 24mm deep sockets from memory, could be wrong), torque wrench, bench vice, good quality axle stands and some patience.

Bench vice was useful for holding the shock while you take the top bolt out - the top mounting plate comes away with it you see. Otherwise it's a three hands required job, although I'm sure you could do it on the floor. It's been a couple of years now since I did that job, my memory is vague!

As for how long the job takes, I did mine on the hottest day of 2017 and so was taking regular breaks, plus I took time out to go get a deep socket I needed but didn't have in the toolbox. I think from start to finish, it was about 7 hours including the aforementioned breaks and trip to the nearest big town. I recall the second shock took much less time, circa two hours. The first was probably three/three and a half by the time I'd worked everything out.

Sorry, no idea about speaker upgrades and such, I've kept the original system.

Thanks a lot for the reply, very helpful.
Did you need a spring compressor?

Are you still driving your DS5?
I've had mine well over a year now and I still spend a ridiculous amount of time just looking at it and marveling at how good it looks!! The white really sets off the various details, like the lights, chrome and glass. Mine is in black with the Canaveral alloys, which I think work well together - like the one pictured below (not mine). I really like how the reg plate on the one pictured looks, unfortunately a mate tried that style plate and eventually got fed up with the additional attention from the boys in blue.

Fantastic thread. I’ve not been on PH for a while and happened upon this thread with a google search. I am picking up a 13 plate 160 hdi DStyle in grey tomorrow. 63k on the clock and full Citroen history. A few of the extras were ticked. Looks amazing inside and out. Bad bits, there’s a little flatting of the material on the drivers seat between where my legs are. Also a mark on the rear arm rest when closed. A very light scuff on the rear door/ wing. But the biggest issue for me are the mirror finished alloys. Both rears are corroded. Will Citroen cover these on a 6 year old car? No kerbing what so ever. Would have liked hud and DENON. Did see on Citroen that dab can be added for about £120 might be worth the upgrade.

Is a depart from my other car history. 2 x Alfa GTV V6, Impreza wrx wagon, and a very impressive and unusual Mazda 6 MPS (which is sat outside waiting to go needed some tlc). Not planning on giving it welly everywhere but have gotten used to AWD on my last 2 cars so will have to learn FWD again somewhat.

No chance with Citroen covering the wheels unfortunately, we used to struggle past one year old to get them covered. Had to pretty much prove they’d never been cleaned using acidic cleaners etc...

Also-don’t bother with the dealer fit DAB-we used to fit them obviously and it was a pain in the arse, plus the audio quality/signal was hugely variable.

I remember having a brand new one as a hire car when they were just launched.
Was really impressed with it back then. So very comfortable
