Hi all.

After weeks of looking for the perfect Megan R26, I saw this for sale and couldn't say no. The rest is history, and I'm very impressed so far. I bought it two weeks ago with 51k miles on the clock. It has the very desirable JCW bucket seats, but it had WAY TOO MUCH CHROME!

So, nights on eBay led to lots Carbon fibre goodies turning up to hide the Chrome, THREE air filters/induction kits being bought (one was the wrong one, one was out of stock for a month, and the other was just right!), the back seats have been deleted and a carbon fibre rear strut has been installed. Also I've got the head unit changed and the standard speakers are actually quite impressive.

As I've got no plans of tracking it this year as it needs to be fully prepared, air con, speakers and the passenger seat will stay for now.

On the way next (when my car sells, which is when PH stops referring spammers to me wink) is:

- New drilled and grooved discs and MAYBE some porsche 4 pots for next year if funds allow.

- Black light surrounds front and rear, front strut and GP wing and wheels refurb then sprayed black.

- Supersprint straight pipe to replace resonator on the JCW System, and MAYBE a decat because flames.

- Another pulley reduction. It already has one but I'll reduce it a bit more and add an intercooler.

- Intercooler, not sure which make!

- Racing cams, still looking into this, not the biggest fan of lumpy idle but I think I've found some.

- 550cc injectors.

- Remap to put it all together.

On the way right now is a spare wheel which I'm going to attach to where the back seats were, rally style! Doing this because the car no longer has run flats.

Here are some pretty crappy images:

Very nice, keep the updates coming

Just one point to note, the GP rear wing needs a different rear window glass to attach it. Don't know of a way around this

The replicas from Oranjie attach to the normal windows, they work just as well as the GP item and are 1/4 of the price.

OP get your self onto Mini Torque as all your questions have been answered and argued over on there.

Cracking project, I really fancy one of there as a weekend/fun car when funds allow, loved the JCW I shared with my ex missus

Thanks for the info and compliments.

I'll keep in mind the info about attaching a GP wing, although I've had my eye on a Oranjie one - they're not available at the mo, I'll contact them when they're back.

I'm on Mini Torque now, always good to do a bit of research on there before going crazy and ordering lot's of stuff (which is oh-so-tempting).

Loving it so far, no way near as quick as I want it, mind. Cracking round corners though, will be even better when I shell out on some coilovers.

Tomorrow I will order a straight pipe from SuperSprint to replace the resonator, the sound is a mesmerising note from the inside (with the rear seat delete) when the revs are high but it's missing some crackles and pops on overrun!

Any suggestions on what will benefit the car are appreciated, don't know as much as I need to about these cars, I'm more of a Rover guy wink

Well, after a full service, a straight pipe, a new clutch and flywheel.... Someone reversed into me. The car park was empty and the girl (18?) reversed at an angle at full speed and went right into the car - right in front of me. Rear quarter is now shagged. She said she'll pay but I can't see it being cheap. Car drives fine thank god but it's an absolute bummer. Funny thing is she gave me her details and then ragged it off the car park.

Gutted re the bump but it doesn't look that bad, most should knock out then prep and paint.

That's what I'm hoping. It isn't that bad, could be much worse but it's how careless she was. I was very calm, but if me and my girlfriend were in the car it'd have been a different story, it's almost incomprehensible how oblivious people can be.

I'd check the info she gave you, last time someone did that to me they gave me false details and I had to get the police involved. Very similar set of behaviour- young girl in a Civic Type R who crossed the white lines and clipped my rear quarter, gave me a false name and address then ragged it off...

I've been in contact with her loads. She's local and I'm pretty friendly with her ex. Went to BMW, got a quote of £2,327 and said you can pay it or we'll do insurance.. She took the insurance route. I'll head down to BMW tomorrow and sort it out, they've got an accident management team who'll do all the work, I have a client who's accident management but it'll be easier if they're working with BMW.

Just not an ideal situation, I've seen threads like this and never expect it to happen to me, but here I am! Good news is it still drives well, and after making some progress on the roads tonight I can happily say it's not lost its touch. The Supersprint straight pipe really completes the car, lots of pops.. Slightly raspsy when cold though.

"Don't want a replacement car, just fix the damage"

They're definitely getting the arm in with that quote

Well BMW's accident management company are sorting it all. I've got a 15 plate cooper d 5dr as a courtesy and I bloody love it!!! It's so smooth and economical. The car will be getting repaired by BMW from the wallet of that girls insurance so all is well!

Is this a wind-up? A dent man would be able to push that out for less than a £150!

edit: maybe not as I have just seen the small crease near the arch. BMW still taking the pee mind

Due to the crease it's not a 'push it out' kind of job, and as I'm not paying for it I'd rather go with the most expensive with promise of the best finish.

Well, guess who's back?

Had it back a couple of weeks, just not had time to update. Purchased a PH sticker for it, but I've yet to put it on.

Averaging about 19-22mpg as well which isn't particularly fun.
