I was off work on Wednesday and Thursday so got the MOT failure bits sorted and took it back into work today for the retest. The MINI now has an MOT and has been pressed straight into daily service!

Hurrah! Glad to hear it, I've been enjoying this thread and I'm pleased you saw it through to completion - congrats!

I do wonder what was going on in your video before you moved off, though, the distortion was quite weird...

The camera wasn't attached very well so was vibrating a bit. Could be that?

I've been using the car this evening and done about 50 miles in it. I forgot how much fun these Minis are to drive. With the slightly stiffer, lower suspension it's like driving a go kart! The tyres are atrocious in anything but a straight line so I'll sort out some new slightly less budget rubber soon which will make it even more fun to drive hopefully!

Could well be. It certainly started to give me a headache.

I think this is pretty much the end of the thread now. I'll keep it updated with any major changes. I hope everyone has enjoyed following my extremely slow progress and if you fancy reading about my next project then have a look at my other thread for my race car - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Absolutely no idea! Never added it up. Probably more than I should of spent but at least it wasn't all in one go!

Had to fit a stretch belt like you mentioned earlier to my Fiesta today. Quick job, I think. What a nightmare. I got one on (just) but the second just was not happening, a completely ridiculous idea.

I look forward to seeing Ford fit it in 5 minutes in a couple of days time, I can only see myself destroying another belt laugh
