A neighbour to our old house (10-15 years ago) bought and restored a brown GT, haven't got any pictures or reg number but it turned out to be Win Percy's old company road car when he raced them in the mid 70's.

It had belonged to a mate who thrashed the thing for years when we were running around in RS 2000's, remember being pretty impressed by it at the time. The resto was fairly long as my neighbour was learning as he went along but it did look really stunning when it was finished. I'm sure it was more a bronze colour though than the one in the picture above and had a cream vinyl roof if I remember correctly.

He actually got in contact with Win Percy while doing the car who kindly dug out a load of period photos of the car for him and he genuinely seemed quite impressed the car was still going. Although the car ran it was never quite right and our neighbour only took it out occasionally, we moved and lost touch.

I haven't seen it about since ( we only live a mile away or so) but suspect strongly it's still sat in his garage as he was a total Toyota (especially Celica) nut.
Would be rather distinctive with the white vinyl roof - possibly this one?

Yes I'm absolutely positive that's the car, owners name was Chris and car was from South Hampshire.

Really hoping it's back on the road properly as it was a great car, do you have any details please?

Many thanks, did a quick check and its been SORN'd since 2010 although its MOT history looks good and it was certainly rust free last time I saw it (2005).

Very tempted to pop round for a cup of tea and catch up to be honest, he always enjoyed chatting about cars.......

Like your own project by the way and good luck, just a shame we can't all see the early photos anymore.

Always worth doing - blame my project as an excuse for jogging your memory wink

Thanks, rectifying the photo's is on the to do list if I get some down time over Christmas - they tell half the story really.

As it's been a while since this thread was last updated, seeing as I've given you no other evidence

I'll just leave this here.

In case you were wondering about the ear defenders, there was no exhaust on the car either so was a little loud! laugh

Off to the NEC restoration show this weekend where I'm playing swaps for a few parts thumbup

Thank you, I'm not 100% sure exactly so will need to ask the PO when I next see him, but I believe it was parked up in the early 90's.
