mmm, be doing insurance quotes

it'll be a UK spec 2.0 NA only, thats just over £500 per year.

the Turbo's go past £1000, gezz, 39 years old, max NCB and a confirmed low crime area of Manchester and they still want to screw me if I go above 175bhp.
Call classicline. wink

I'm 28, 3 years ncb, ok postcode in London. 600 per year.

Looks like you've got a good one here, reminds me of the Mule in many ways. Not sure on the rear lights though IMHO wink

These both seem pricey! Are you both using these as your only car? I have a daily duty motor and the MR2 is insured on a classic policy. Zero no claims on the classic policy and I pay £379 with all mods declared.

London postcodes = higher insurance premium, for the most part.

MR2 would be my one and only car, 6000k miles a year limit and I don't commute to work in my car.

Thanks captain.

I think 600 is pretty reasonable to be fair. It was 450 without the mods.

Rear lights I'm picking up tomorrow biggrin

I'm in London (albeit zone 4), £370 from Adrian Flux including all mods, 29, 2yrs NCB, limited mileage policy. Only mod which increased the premium was the ECU, none of the cosmetic mods made a difference.

That's a cheeky price! Must admit I didn't call Adrian Flux this year as last year they tried to rape me.

Well said WW. Every one I've owned I look back pretty much every time I Park and I've always said there's not many cars I'd rather be in. I know what you mean about the punch of the ct26 but the power is now much more usable. Still not sure which I prefer. What caused your engine to set on fire?

I love goodwood green, any pics? On the subject of blow off sound, the forge bov on mine gives a nice, sharp hiss rather than anything dramatic. I like it.
I'm always a bit reluctant to say I have a green car but I really do love the colour. It changes from green to purple to black depending on the light. This is it at the ferry port in Belfast on the way back. It's my sixth MR2:

There is quite a story behind the loss of the previous turbo but long story short it caught fire on the M1 on the way to the airport last summer. Still made the holiday though! smile

Here it is. The condition considering it was 20 years old was amazing:

Been aware of your cars for past few years. Did you have the gold alloys on the red? I've just seen the gold BBS LMs on imoc.... Hmmm!

They both look really stunning, and make me miss the stock bodywork look smile

I have to say, both of my rev 2's were amazingly rust free for how old they were! Also, what were the big costs your Rev 4 threw up?

And yes that was my first NA smile Still miss that car, even compared to the turbos. I emailed the boy who bought it to buy it back, I was going to store it. But he never replied. Thanks for following beer

Those BBS's are lovely, perfect fitment, but about £600 too much for me at the moment biggrin

Yep, that's the one I was picturing. I too had a UK rev3 NA in red but the paintwork was nowhere near as nice as that. Funnily enough, of the 4 mk2s I've had none have been t-bar (3 hard tops, 1 moon roof or whatever). My mk1 was t-bar and I have fond memories of it smile

The current rev4 needed a new/reconditioned turbo shortly after buying it (despite it having been reconditioned over the winter apparently...). Anyhow, as is the case with cars like these (age, limited history due to import, etc) once you start digging you find things that need doing and it ended up just being a case of "whilst we're at it..." if you know what I mean. It's my only car so made sense to get things done in one go and because it was summer I just used my bike instead. There's still a few niggles - the clutch bites too high for my liking, few interior bits need tidying, mud flaps and OEM side lights to source, etc but they can be sorted in due course.

Sounds like she just wanted to see some commitment thumbup

I tried to live without a t-bar and couldn't do it. (He says with a wet arm).

Can I have some honest opinions on the alloys please? I was going to bin them off, but I've had a good look and realised there's room on the back for properly fitted tyres. They also don't ride half as bad as expected for 18's. They have a good stagger so lots of grip. No idea what they weigh, but they feel light. I'm just not sold on the looks.

They're a bit much IMHO. Personally I'd sell them to some scene kids before you kerb them and go for some 16s smile

Cheers Ben I do agree I think. Too big and showey. Been looking for some nice 16's or 17's since I bought it though and not coming up with much in budget. I was considering these, what do you think?

They're for sale locally for a good price, and are 17's, 8j and 9j with correct offset. If I bought them they wouldn't stay white.

I prefer the wheels you have on at the moment, although maybe not in chrome.

I've just found some 16" split jdm alloys, collecting tomorrow smile

New rear lights going on in the morning too, car will be transformed smile

edit: will have to remove passenger seat to ferry the wheels home. Is it as simple as it looks? biggrin

I reckon some SA3r 3-spokes would look great on yours. Gotta love a JDM 3-spoke!

I agree that the current alloys look a bit VW scene but they don't look massively out of place either. What ones you go for in the end?

Seat out is easy. Especially the passenger one. Two bolts at the front, two at the back and one out of the transmission tunnel for the seat runner. All the same size bolts, just not sure what size!
