Last weekend I fit new exhaust mounts as the mid pipe was just sitting on the sub-frame and making a racket. The rear mount closest to the bumper was absolutely decimated and so I thought this would sort it, but now even with new mounts, it's still 'JUST' touching the sub. It's actually about half a mm above it, but of course it's too close.
Engine/gearbox mounts seem in good condition, which means it's just a poor fitting aftermarket exhaust. Any other ideas?
I like the exhaust, it's newish and makes a nice sound. For those who don't know, the MR2 has an exhaust mount which sits on the sub frame. I think I'll just add some spacers/washers between the sub-frame and this mount, which should give the clearance I need between pipe and sub-frame.

Hows life with the rev3 Dan? Tomorrow is the final day of tax before my rev2 is put away for the winter months. I'm praying for a crisp, dry day for one final run through the countryside.
Do you (and anyone else reading this) use your imports throughout the winter? This is my first import purchase and right now, wouldn't dare use it through the salty, gritty winter months and I'm curious as to whether you all do the same?
Anyway, have a great weekend.

Hi mate, hope the weather is better where you are than it is in my neck of the woods this morning!
The car is running great overall. I've decided to keep the bbs reps and just put some properly sized tyres on the rear, at least for a while.
I've run all of my mr2's through the year. Putting a turbo away in the winter is missing half the fun - they love the cool, denser air and you can really feel the difference. If you have the choice I would keep it taxed and ready to use. If you're worried about rust just give it a good clean including arches and underside very often. Arches are especially important as mud just embeds itself.
T-bars do take a little while to demist on a really really cold night, but that's no big deal, just sit on idle and let the car warm up.
All that said, London winters are fairly mild, so we don't see too much grit/salt on the roads. I'd probably feel differently in a rural location with loads of snow and salt.

Went for a little drive and processed the hell out of these photos to accentuate the autumn colours.

Must find a different front bumper - the panel gap is horrendous
Think i'll look for a Tom's or Bomex.

Two months without updates! Fortunately the car hasn't really needed anything and nothing has gone wrong. The only way it needs improving is the wheels changing and I'm keeping my eye on the classifieds pretty regularly. It's plenty quick enough. That said front offside top mount has started knocking over bumps so they will need changing soon. Oh well, here's a couple of photos! New year, new camera.

Nice to see its going strong Dan My Mr2 has now gone to one my good mates so I still go in it regularly!
One of my front top mounts started knocking so I replaced the pair with Tein Adjustable units which was a good upgrade. If its of any use though I have a single toyota top mount - a bit manky but fully functional. You are reasonably local to me so if you want it let me know and you can have it
Cheers, Ant.

Still kicking myself for choosing a gt4 over one of these
Just missed out on a lovely red turbo by a few mins and the salesman had a freshly imported ST185 GT4A in the showroom so bought that instead (rare leather interior did it for me!!) should have waited for another Turbo to come in, my gt4 was nice & quick but couldn't get near my mates MR2 Turbo!! Very quick cars!!

I do like ST185's but they weigh a fair lump and that's always put me off.
No reason not to sell and get an MR2 still, plenty around for good prices still.
It died around 10 years ago mate No reason not to sell and get an MR2 still, plenty around for good prices still.
I'd just dumped around £3k into getting it back otr after being layed up for 4/5 years and it went bang (a Big Bang!!!) around a month later
I've got this Saab now, if I swapped it for another car she'd go a bit mental!

How has the winter been with the MR2 Dan? I wasn't brave enough to keep mine going throughout the winter period. As a result I am very excited about this weekend. It is time to get the MR2 out and ready for the better weather
I have the MOT booked the following weekend and this coming weekend will be used working on the MR2, preparing it for the test next week and of course, taking it out for a drive to blow away all of the cobwebs. I'm a little nervous because I haven't even looked at the car in around 8 weeks (it's garaged and under a cover).
I hope all is well with you and you're still enjoying your lovely 2.
