Right, so I've had a brilliant trip in the car; decided to go completely on a whim up to the peak district with the girlfriend, do the cat and fiddle and go for a general long distance, picturesque hoon. The car was flawless over the hundreds of miles to get there, around and back:

And the result of a day on roads caked in salt lick

So that was about 2 weeks ago, the car has only been out twice since and the second trip, yesterday, led to a large burning smell, a slight thud, and a completely missing alternator belt rolleyes Can only imagine the hassle if it had happened a larger distance from home, especially at the top of the peak district hehe
So i managed to get it home 10 odd miles on the battery with everything other than sidelights off, and now its sat waiting for a set of belts for the alternator, power steering and A/C to arrive so and other crusty belts can come off, meaning every belt is new and shouldn't give any more hassle.

Well I haven't updated this in a while! Since things are starting to happen I thought I'd get up to speed on here for anyone's interest.

So the car got tanked around north wales, specifically the evo triangle and general roads around Snowdon before heading back to the gloomy midlands:

Plenty more stunning photos but I'm on my phone. This was March, and I was soon greeted with a letter telling me I'd missed a 60mph drop to 50mph on the way home and that I'd be in receipt of some points and a fine, censored .

Luckily insurance minimally affected and also somewhat thankful it was a small oversight after a long day that I got caught out for rather than for anything actually around the triangle!

Other than that the car has been to japfest, mimms Honda day and a few other events. The nearside rear arch has decided it also wants to be rotten so that's being cut out and really just leaves the bonnet letting the car down aesthetically.... So a carbon number is making its way to me sometime this week, by next Sunday service I'm hoping the car will look good enough to get some attention for the right reasons hehe

And its going to the ring November for the end of the season, updates to follow!

Easily my favourite colour on a DC2. I want one so much.

Cheers guys, it's a colour I love despite the issues with fade and the general costs of getting the paintwork to where it is now (will be come October), and at best I would say its decent. Still much more to be done but it is what it is, I've spent less on this than my daily has depreciated so man maths can justify thumbup

Song the car was back from its second visit to Manhattan for the rear arch this Saturday, kindly they've blown over the whole rear quarter as well as the normal quality fab work cutting and replacing the arch itself, the car now has had both of these properly fixed so no more rust repairs (touchwood!).

As the rear quarter looks now with new decal

And I've had a message from an amused sister and a less amused mother that my carbon bonnet has finally arrived today at home and doesn't fit anywhere

Once that's on it'll look spot on for what I want at last, only took 16 months hehe

Glad to see its going well.
Carbon bonnet waste of time when you take the old bonnet off you will find its so light you can lift it with one hand.

Ended up with a carbon one mainly because the cost of buying a bonnet that's not rotten and then paying to have it sprayed even the same colour was the same price, new bonnet unpainted from Honda £530! I'm hedging bets it will look OK with this on thumbup

Honestly the original bonnet may even be lighter I reckon hehe

With the help of my mate and gf the bonnet is on and reasonably well aligned, looks a darn site better than the rotten dented one that's come off, pleased with the difference.

I've kept photos of the old rotten bonnet top as a record of why the car was a CAT D, as nearly all of the hailstone marks are gone with the bonnet replaced

On to Germany next Friday for a weekend at the ring!

I still have some new Skunk2 front adjustable camber arms, plus lightly used rears if interested, and an OE catback, and a couple of other bits like cat heat shields I think, new. Kept as was intending to get another, but kept my 968 instead.

I would say I am interested but parking the car currently involves a driveway where the mudflaps and exhaust catch if I don't line it up properly (hence the joke sticker a friend put on above that I've left in place), any lower and it wouldn't go on, and if I went into fitting camber arms I'd end up doing a lot more probably hehe But cheers for the offer, may check back in with you if circumstances change RE parking thumbup

I've just looked Dan and I can't see them either, something seems to be up with all the pictures I've put up using tinypic? have to try and get it sorted unless anyone has any ideas?

Pictures are working again for me Dan.

This thread is brilliant, been looking at potentials for a next car and a DC2 might have to be a potential weekend / hoon car!!
