Many restored classics get complete floor pans fitted, also many of these floors are not original Ford panels is that Ok? mines happens to be original Ford floor pan but just a different shape
Doesn't a replacement floor from the same model get filed under 'repair' whereas a replacement floor (or body in this case) from a different model get classed as a modification? I'm amazed it didn't need an IVA test though, what did the DVLA say about it?

Well, obviously a year or so ago I cared or else I wouldn't have asked. It was not meant to be accusatory at all, I'd like to do something similar in the future and so was curious as to what the requirements were to get it on the road. I was not trying to pick it to pieces at all, I was just asking a question on an open forum. Hope that clears things up smile

Hi
just picked up your post, the full build of this car is as far removed from a Mk Escort you'l get, but for the record its running a MT75 gearbox onto a Sierra back axle from a Cosworth the engine is from Mondeo 2.5 V6 then Supercharged, all fitted to a Sierra floor pan, that's the shorted version, all I will say, it's a hell of a car

What's the supercharger? Is there enough space under a standard mondy bonnet for it..?

Very nice indeed, great fun.

1st to 2nd seems to be a big difference in ratio - is it running a 4 speed or 5 speed?

Fantastic work - that looks epic!
May I ask - was there much work (ie: a new or modded bellhousing) to fit the gearbox (MT75 - from a RWD sierra, IIRC) to the Duratec (from a Mondeo, where it would've been FWD and mounted sideways), or did the 'box just bolt straight on..? Only ask as planning a build/mod to a kit car myself which is sierra/granny running gear, and a Duratec replacement would be great (ie: from an ST220), but I've worried about how much it might end up costing to mate the FWD engine into a RWD set-up..
Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply been off line since October 16 long story and moved house and garage. however did you get your project going? to answer your question about the adaption to the MT75 was relatively easy to do, but then I am an engineer with all tooling and materials to hand
let me know
