Such an inspirational car! Really makes me desire a 99 spec bumper.

Can you tell me what wideband AFR sensor and gauge you're using and where the sensor is along the exhaust?

Some more photos. Still on the search for an ECU now...

Ten years ago my friend and I got the cars together for a quick pic while we were out and about. I stumbled across it the other day, nice bit of nostalgia.

Unfortunately I managed to write that MX5 off but he still has the DC2, which is now a fully-fledged track car. We decided to update the shot in the same place with our current toys.

You might want to be aware that your picture is being used by some random Facebook car page:

thats the trouble with the internet - post pics of your cars, house, pets, kids eek and others will use those pics for whatever they want... WHATEVER!!

just be careful what you post, what else is in that photobucket folder (if you used the link not the IMG code) and what you put on FB and who can see it.

its scary how many people DO NOT have any privacy set yet share their entire lives with the world
(inc geo tagged images and updates)

Thanks for the heads up, Ive seen it being used all over IG too. Just one of those things I'm afraid - not worth going after them to be honest! I'm a photographer so sharing images with the World is part of my trade!

Lovely car and some great photography work there.

Good to see an RX7 on it's correct wheels, one of the best looking OEM sports car wheel designs IMO, I have a set of those on my MX6...

Thanks, glad you like the wheels too. I think me and you are probably the only ones who agree though biggrin

Stock FD wheels are both light and strong because they're forged(ish) rather than just cast... or at least, they're strong after the first few batches were found to have stress cracks in them and they made the webs around the rear pocketing a bit thicker! Mine didn't even break when the rest of the car did after interfacing abruptly with unyielding scenery. It's just a shame they've got such an offset fail on them frown

They do have a relatively high offset don't they, it's 50mm if I recall. I could have done with them having a lower offset on my MX6 as they are 1" wider than the standard rims, I had to use some 5mm spacers so they'd just clear the rear struts.

Yeah the OE ET of the wheels is the only thing that lets them down, especially the rears!

Have you thought about using concentric wheel spacers? 25mm ought to sort things out. smile I probably wouldn't use them if I was tracking it, but the offset would look smart in the pictures...

I had thought about it but as you say, I'm not sure I'd trust it with spirited driving and to be honest I can always photoshop the rears wider if I want it to look pretty! biggrin

Ha, well it does look great as it is anyhow, I don't mind a bit of high offset, it's retro. smile

OP,

Thankyou for this thread. Ive just spent the past hour reading through your build and have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the updates.

Car looks amazing. Do you still look back at it when walking away after parking it up?
