Thanks dude! Just playing around with them really, trying out different styles. Here's another one, potentially a bit dark on an uncalibrated screen.

Thanks fellas. I really wanted an RX8 as a daily, still think theyre one of the most comfortable cars money can buy! I keep telling myself shes allowed in the car, but she always ends up in the other one wink

Thought I'd do a photo of the little Suzuki as well. This car just keeps impressing me at the moment.

Excellent photos as always! How do you find good photo locations? Is it just local knowledge or do you use google maps and the like?

Love going for a drive with the tripod and camera in the boot but never really have a plan lol
Thanks!

Bit of both to be honest - the above shots were from a bit of local knowledge, taken at off-peak times of day and on a weekend to ensure minimum disruption. I work as an automotive photographer and often I'm simply given a car, a radius within which I can take it and a strict time limit. It's still hardly 'work', but it's pretty stressful sometimes and it's usually mid-day, mid-week because clients are more interested in what's easy and cheap rather than what actually looks good. I try to do a bit of google-map research before the shoot if the time is there, but otherwise I end up driving around looking for somewhere that's either interesting or neutral and, more importantly, whether I'm allowed access to it. A lot of my shoots end up in Leeds, which to be honest is worse than London to get around.

I think sometimes the difficulty lies in realising the difference between what looks nice in person and what will look nice in-camera!

As a young(er) couple we used to take the drive up to the coast for no reason most weekends, but haven't done it for years. Poured some fuel in the FD and took the scenic route, ended up at Cayton Bay first.

Was actually heading to Scarborough, but ended up waiting (unsuccessfully) for this storm to move on. Fairly certain it followed me and eventually caught up!

Eventually found myself at Olivers Mount - a superb (if not fairly deadly) ribbon of road. Was nice to have a comfortably-quick drive without needing to be on the throttle all that much, just connecting corners and enjoying the scenery.

I really need to find less excuses to do this sort of thing more often!

Thanks guys - glad to see you found it interesting!

I actually really like the OE Enkeis, just a shame the fitment on the rear is so weak - I'm not sure the BBS would suit the look of the car as they're not quite aggressive enough. I've actually seen some XXR/JR wheels (I know, "fake" wheels the horror!) that I'd like once I've killed the tyres on these.

Haha thanks guys - for the ideas and the photoshop. I guess Im just not a huge fan of gold wheels!

As for the sunset shots, two exposures is definitely the easiest way. Align them in PS and then mask the ground out with a grad. You could also do HDR which is a slightly more automated way of doing the same thing - as long as you fix the levels and colours afterwards it should look realistic enough. Hope that helps!
