As an Alfa enthusiast ...( on my second 156, first was a 1.8 TS, now have a 2005 JTDM 150 with a remap to about 190BHP), your 166 seems a fantastic bargain.
A friend has a nice 166 but has had a tricky issue with the pedal box ? He also has a 156 and a 159...
I was once in Lyles Alfa in Newcastle and there was a very late 166 Ti ( IIRC) parked outside. It had everything possible on it, but was worth peanuts even then !
There a very few 166s around the North East but they are definitely worth saving and I can only imagine what that Busso sounds like..!!
I would love a 156 GTA but I need some semblance of economy...for a 70 mile commute hence the 156 JTDM.
I have just sourced a new Bosch MAF for mine as it must be on the original one ( only done 138,000 miles on it !). There are no error codes but apparently the MAF can 'go off' without generating any codes/lights etc.
Hopefully that is the case as I never get more than 42 mpg ( actual as worked out with pen & paper !) on an A road/motorway commute, and others say they achieve over 50 ( which I never have !)
Good thread by the way !
