What site did you use for bidding on the car?

For the dent on the wing, Lewis at Ding Goes is brilliant for this kind of thing. Has done a lot of work for a friend of mine:

Cheers for that. I have a local guy we use, problem is to get access the headlight will need to come out, which I think might involve removing the front bumper but not 100% sure.

In terms of the site, I viewed the catalogue through http://opjp.ajes.com/ But then got a friend to sort the rest out for me so don't have too much info regarding that side I'm afraid.

Thanks to my smart repair expert buddy Dean we now have a shiny bonnet. Paint looks like it'll come up really well, exited to see the whole car finished.

Does anyone know where to get cheap sliding curtains made up? Browsing the internet this morning and this picture has given my imagination some ideas...

So today was spent giving the interior of the SMX a thorough going over, it's not quite perfect yet but is a million times better. It's had a thorough Hoover and shampooing, whilst there I found a little not to the cars previous life...

Think I'll find a home for these to stay in the car;

The Impreza I bought 13 years ago now, still has all the jap coins I found in it (huge pile) stored in the centre console. Good luck charms smile
I've had plenty of them in my Eunos over the years, never trusted taking any of them out the car hehe

I like that even though you live in Scotland you've been issued an 'RL' Cornish plate. The DVLA just wang them out these days!
It's actually a 2001 model year car so I was supprised it didn't come on a Y or a 51.

Stumbled into this thread by accident (stupid phone) but pleased I did. Cars with stories like this are great.

Keep us updated.

Cheers.

Today I threw a new panel filter in, old one was properly mingling. Was going to be stupid and put a cone filter on it but for once for some reason I came across all sensible and decided against it.

Well done, great thread --
Cheers for the comments. Nothing worthwhile to update apart from I gave it it's first proper few hundred mile run yesterday, really chuffed with the way it performed. Going to get an oil and filter service done in the next week or 2. Am away to Barcelona for the F1 testing next week then back to Snetterton for some testing of my own in the Mx5 so got a busy few weeks cool

Went to get some change out of the door pocket this morning and came across this. If anyone is around the Komatsu area of Japan I'm only 2 stamps away from a free pizza hehe

Massive thanks to my buddy Dean for helping today and getting rid of 15 years of Japanese grime from the bodywork. We now have a glass like shine!

So, we've just arrived back from Barcelona, massive thanks to all the guys at Martini Williams F1 Team for the hospitality, is amazing how many faces there are in an F1 paddock even during testing.

Top that off with the Barcelona beer festival + a Nou Camp tour and you have a pretty good week!

Back in the UK naturally the already dodgy battery on the SMX couldn't cope with being dormant. Luckily the one on my mates other Jap fresh import was much better! hehe

So this morning I've fitted a fresh new Yuasa battery, slightly more expensive than usual due to the size but not a disaster.

So due to financial constraints it doesn't look like I'm going to be out in the race car much this year. This however does free up quite a bit of spare cash (don't ask how expensive UK club racing can be! hehe ).

So this leaves me a dilemma, I don't really have the desire to run 2 cars, and I'm really enjoying the little Honda.

Do I replace it with something a little more exotic, or spend a few quid modifying it and keeping it... decisions.

So exciting news in SMX world last night. We sailed past 100,000km on route to Anstruther for some fish & chips.

No pictures unfortunately, I was on a date and didn't fancy explaining why I was so excited to take a picture of my speedometer hehe

Not read the whole thread but didn't these come with a condom holder and were marketed as the "Joy machine" or similar? biggrin
Thanks, ax ex girlfriend once said something similar about me, I'm sure it's a compliment somewhere hehe

And yes, Jalponik made a funny article about it as posted above

You'll be delighted to know your pub recognition skills are still functioning, it is indeed, just up from West End Honda beer
