Spend £20 on a Meguiars headlight restoration kit - attach to drill and voila in a very short time, your headlights will be like new.
This kit was excellent on our old saab. A word of warning - the results are brilliant but all the way through until about 30 seconds before you finish you will be convinced you've ruined your lights.

EXACTLY smile

anyone with a pot of money and zero imagination can pop to the local garage and buy a focus or even a 911

this takes imagination, a sense of fun and a real eye for what puts a HUGE smile on your face when walking out of your door in the morning

keep the updates coming please smile

This is why I read the forums at Pistonheads, for threads like this. Consider myself a car-guy, pretty knowledgable aswell, and I had no idea that thing existed biggrin JDM YO. Awesome purchase that.

I've got a strong amount of want for one of these now. I love the single and two doors.

What site did you use for bidding on the car?

For the dent on the wing, Lewis at Ding Goes is brilliant for this kind of thing. Has done a lot of work for a friend of mine:

Cheers for that. I have a local guy we use, problem is to get access the headlight will need to come out, which I think might involve removing the front bumper but not 100% sure.

In terms of the site, I viewed the catalogue through http://opjp.ajes.com/ But then got a friend to sort the rest out for me so don't have too much info regarding that side I'm afraid.

Thanks to my smart repair expert buddy Dean we now have a shiny bonnet. Paint looks like it'll come up really well, exited to see the whole car finished.

Does anyone know where to get cheap sliding curtains made up? Browsing the internet this morning and this picture has given my imagination some ideas...

So today was spent giving the interior of the SMX a thorough going over, it's not quite perfect yet but is a million times better. It's had a thorough Hoover and shampooing, whilst there I found a little not to the cars previous life...

Think I'll find a home for these to stay in the car;

The Impreza I bought 13 years ago now, still has all the jap coins I found in it (huge pile) stored in the centre console. Good luck charms smile

I like that even though you live in Scotland you've been issued an 'RL' Cornish plate. The DVLA just wang them out these days!

It's actually a 2001 model year car so I was supprised it didn't come on a Y or a 51.

That happened to me. My Legacy GTB is a late 2001 and it got an X plate.

Stumbled into this thread by accident (stupid phone) but pleased I did. Cars with stories like this are great.

Keep us updated.
