2016 AMG A45 - An ode to simplicity? Not really.
Discussion
I almost want to take back all the good things I said. An A45 was alongside me for a while the other day, and the engine and exhaust combo is the most cringeworthy thing I have ever heard from a standard car. It sounds like a shopping car with a dodgy remap and an exhaust with holes drilled in it.
Still, the OP nailed the look he was going for, and the car does exactly what he wants from it. So a good car and a good thread Maybe the abomination that I heard wasn't standard, but I have heard others that sound just as silly.

I must admit, one drove past me when walking the dog the other day and I thought it was a standard one with a knackered exhaust (it had no silly spoiler so just looked like a rep-mobile). It wasn’t until I walked past it I realised it was an AMG one!Still, the OP nailed the look he was going for, and the car does exactly what he wants from it. If it’s going to sound loud… it should look loud!

Of the modern 4 pot 300+ Bhp hot hatches Imo it sounds okay, it's never going to sound like a big engined car I've never had a problem adjusting to the sound of it and I've owned m3's, vr6's, air cooled flat 6's, r32, and more recently an rs3 with secondary decat pipes, from an engineering aspect merc have done a remarkable job extracting 360/380 hp from a 4 pot. Op that car looks fantastic!

Thanks everyone! I'm a little surprised. I was pretty sure this car would be vehemently hated on here. haha
It does look bold (almost vulgar), but this was my intention from the very start: if Merc were daring enough to align itself with the hot-hatch market and slap (some would say undeservingly) an AMG badge on it, then I want to take its visuals a step further. AMG purists would obviously offended given that a proper AMG car has to have 8 cylinders. But it is what it is.
I've got no intention of changing the exhaust. The current one does the job well enough to elicit mixed emotions from onlookers I am however working with a small reputable tuning company in developing a custom tune (developed to my driving style) for the car.
Thanks again to everyone who read this thread.
ps: Rear diffuser and Wing are all factory parts with the AMG Aeropack. From speaking to my dealer, I've come to learn that most people prefer the car without it. It has grown on me now.
Another recent pic with a new camera lens

Josh, it looks great, well done on the stance, etc. It's the same look I was going for with my 35iS. (The pics I have on here are pre-eibach)
One thing I would comment on though, I just couldn't go back to 4 cylinders. Is there a reason for this (tax/running costs, etc?) because objectively speaking, I can't see why anyone would swap an F80 M3 for this car. The little Merc is brilliant, but other than running costs, I can't think of any other reason ...
