Thanks! Haha I loved the M3 but the F80 seemed to lack the character of the previous E90 engines. I might be in the minority in this regard.

The A45 wasant meant to be a replacement as such, it's a totally different car - a more accessible one for sure.

I am hoping to eventually jump back into a V8 but in the meantime the A45 is meant to provide me with a decent amount of driving pleasure till I decide on my next move .

This is an amazing car. Funnily enough, when I clicked on the thread I thought it looked very similar to a car page I recently followed on Instagram of an A45 and it turns out it was yours! I like even more now that I realise it belongs to a PHer smile

Keep the pictures coming on Insta! I'd love to upgrade my Golf GTi to one of these.

This car makes me feel a little dirty.

And I like it.

Did you try another exhaust on the M3? There are some really dirty ones.... eekhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtA5F4VYPX4

Cheers guys and thanks for the kind words! Yep, I do run an instagram page at @joshtrippingwords

Haha I left the M3 stock, but if I had it now I'd go with an Akrapovic exhaust. I agree there are some scintillating options for the M3.

Here is a new pic as I await my custom tune. Nothing like driving a decently tuned car for the first time! Cant wait. smile

Hey Josh. Love what you've done with your A45. I'm looking at may be getting one next year. Just wondering if it's really worth the extra cash over a Golf R. I think the facelift model looks great especially with the aero bits.

Tell me about the H&R springs. How much has it been lowered?

Too low for me now OP, can't imagine that splitter, actually that front bumper lasting long in Ireland.
Still a smashing car tho.

The A45 looks absolutely spot on with one exception IMO... lose the wing - it just looks like a stuck on piece of tat whereas the rest of the car is perfect. That said it's your car so do what you like :-)

I think that looks fantastic. I have a 'hot' hatch at the cold end of the scale in a Leon Cupra 290 thingy and it's far too boring, though it's perfect for the rep-mobiling duties I use it for...

I think the CTR and this AMG have got the right idea of a hot hatch, though they're both maybe on the wrong side of "dividing opinion" a bit. A slight bit of tweaking on either car in the aesthetics department and they'd be bang on - infinitely more of an event than a Golf/Audi/Seat/Ford attempt IMO.

I'd love to see what you'd do with an RS3 OP. Maybe a saloon next year with the new 394bhp engine?
