A throttle controls the amount of air entering an engine. Still no 8000rpm?
OED defines it as a device controlling fuel or power to an engine. So that will suffice for me.

So yeah, only plumes when you stamp on the throttle

Chasing a Skyline ? I know it was fast in a straight line, but what happened when you arrived at corners ? wasnt it one standard brakes and suspension ?

What have you replaced it with
It was ok for a car from the 80s. SL500 springs and E500 roll bars stiffened it up alot. Brakes were standard. I never once hit full boost whilst cornering, for fear of it being uncontrollable due to the violent power delivery.

I havent! Just my mondeo daily left haha

Was that 2 engines you had? No wonder you sold it sounds like a right money pit.
One engine replacement in my ownership

Its not a special engine, can pick up an OM606 from £300-£500
