How much do 4 tires cost though? redface
Dont really care what brand so like £50 for cheapish branded tyres or may even be able to fit my old e46 wheels + tyres.

But the whole car will be getting sanded back to bare metal and resprayed. Only after ive machine polished it to practice abit more as I worry going near nice cars.

Got a e30 im restoring so going to practice spray painting on this, along with dent repair.
Sounds like a cracking way to learn. thumbup
Machine polishing is a lot easier than people make out, there's loads of tutorials out there but practice is the key. smile

Done it before on a few cars, never nice ones, just things like this. Always worried if the car has nicer paint encase I get it too hot/wear through the paint.

Its here.

Did realise the air compressor to paint it is going to cost more than the whole car though :L

Of course it just started raining so im not going to attempt to clean it yet, which it desperately needs.

Came with the old plate still on it, but 2 brand new (as in the clear plastic film still on them) number plates with the same reg. Believed the plate wasnt coming with the car but not sure now, just waiting to hear back about this.

As pictured with my spare and dirty boot.

Only had a quick blast up and down the drive so far but seems *ok*. When sat still theres a slight vibration in your arse and the engine drops just a few rpm then goes back up occasionally. Goes in and out of gears fine, not sure what this clear/white button is.

Airbag lights on, least of my worries though.

New front arch needed and a small patch welded just below from a quick view, no doubt more when I get under it.

Door will probably be replaced, electric window doesnt work on that one anyway.

Little strut in glovebox isnt attached.

Struts dont hold the boot open and has been sitting under trees for a while.

Interior is just nasty, random things like center cubby hole doesnt open.

How does a seatbelt get this dirty!?

Radio doesnt display anything but it works, soon to be swapped anyway.

Has these 2 little speaker/mic things at the top of both A pillars, not sure how/what they are for as I spy no handsfree kit.

Having owned a long-term E38, I can safely say this won't be worth the time and money to sort out. It's a mess.

It's not meant to be fixed nor made worth anything. It's a car I'm going to respray to learn to spray before I paint my e30.

Also it came with 3 keys which is the most I've ever had with a car!!

They do indeed look like part of an after-market alarm. My 406 Coupe has ultrasonic motion sensors in the same positions on the A-pillars.

Agreed - alarm sensors. Get your spraying practice and then sell it for parts, win/win!

The 'mics' at top of A pillars are indeed part of a 90's alarm system. Moss if I remember correctly.

Looks like you're going to have fun learning to polish it - after all, it's not as if there's a lack of panels, it's a big old beast. laugh

Who was the previous owner, Rab C Nesbitt? That's disgusting mate! I'm sure totally salvagable but might make you gip doing it. Reminds me of some of the mobility cars that used to come into our dealership when I was in the car trade!

Got hold of the guy, he said I can keep the plate as he couldnt be bothered to take it off. So I figure between that and the seats I now cant lose money on purchase price if its a rotbox.

Good choice, see if you can make it last longer than my first E38 (also bought unseen) which was broken after about 4 months! I just weighed it in last month as well after taking off a few bits for my current one. Scrapped it with the (working) radio display as well!

I've have bought a car with a much worse interior than that, and I still managed to flog it! (in parts...)

Will be a good laugh to mess about with tbh, cant go wrong for £200 and a bit of fun.
