Have you seen the mod for the rear lights to make them look like LCI ones by using red tint film on the reverse light? I think that would suit yours.
I've had a little google and I think you're right, it looks very effective. I've just ordered the Horizon angel eyes LED kit. Looking forward to fitting them once they arrive.

According to realoem they came with FRM2 after 03/2007, I just checked with NCS-Expert to be sure though.

Great cars. I ran an E90 N52 manual 330i N52 for three years. It was in the family for another three years and faultless throughout.

Biggest upgrade was switching out the runflats. No more punctures and a much better ride, quieter, pus better traction over crests / bumps.

A drop in K&N filter gives a little more of that lovely intake sound, if nothing else.

I also ended up switching the front pads for performance versions, as the auto fade compensation was kicking in when driven hard.

Enjoy!

Agreed, I've got 19" with non run flat with m sport shocks and eibach pro springs and the ride/ handling is spot on.
It's nice and firm without shaking your teeth out and never bumpy

Lovely car, nice mods. You made me go looking at the classifieds, only to find this:

If I wasn't just window shopping, I'd bite your hand off. Good luck!

Shhh, I don't really want to sell it.... In fact I did last week(!) A guy left me a deposit from 150 miles away by bank transfer, but then took his pregnant wife to see a 320d locally and she couldn't get in and out of it so I gave it him back as he didn't mess me about. Relieved really as I love it.

This is it. I've been surprised at the interest actually. I get a call a week, all knowledgeable people who are aware of car and haven't had 1 insulting offer. We've got 3 cars and only me driving 1 so something has to give. If it goes it goes, if it doesn't it's no problem.

I'd use the 330i every day but it seems a waste to not keep using the leased Golf R till it goes back. That said if I early terminate it I'm keeping the BMW forever.

Did the LED 'angel eyes' today. Got them from Horizon LEDs for approx £40. Followed this guide when I got stuck https://youtu.be/z-_cb_0jjRs

All the videos and methods say to take the wheels off. Pah, no need for that. Just turned each wheel to access all the bolts to remove the arch shrouds. First one took a little while due to me not knowing the method. 2nd one piece of piss.

New unit in situ

First done

Finished

The sun was shining directly on them this morning so the pics aren't brilliant.

Nice, I keep meaning to put a thread up for my E91 330i.

Mine has the darkline rear lights but it's silver, they came with the car. I was all set to swap them but they've actually grown on me.

Unfortunately my waterpump gave up the ghost on the M4 yesterday, frustrating but they all seem to go before 100k. I just wish BMW hadn't switched to electronic pumps, a lot more expensive!

The problem with all these aftermarket halos is as you've illustrated. They're no where near bright enough and effectively disappear when the sun hits them, so useless as a drl.

Mine are really bright, I've never managed to take a clear photo of them as they always over expose!

Just like every other pic on the web that's an overcast almost shadowy environment for the pic.

I looked into this a lot and as usual the US guys have oodles of knowledge on the subject. LUX makes some good bulbs but the serious modders all admit they can't compete with the proprietary solution due to the OEM design.

It either ends up too dull or the inner ring waaaay too bright in an attempt to throw some light into the outer ring.

Bottom line is you can spot these 'solutions' a mile off and they don't pass muster.

The vinyl wrap of the trim had been itching my perfection gene. I could see the aluminium in a couple of corners on the vent pieces that I just couldn't stop focusing on when driving therefore I succumbed and bought a walnut trim kit from ebay. I'll probably rewrap the imperfect alu trims with what I have left and may reinstall. Or maybe they'll just sit in the garage for the next 3 years....

Shame. The matt finish on the 3M wrap looked fantastic. Very modern. Shiny walnut is so old-man.

Not worth having another go with the acres of leftovers?

Once I get some time and patience I'm going to have another go. It was the vent surrounds that weren't quite right. I'll get some of the 3M adhesive to aid the corner adhesion.

That said, the veneers are so much more pleasant than the pictures do them credit. They really add a dimension of quality.

Any reason you didn't go for the paint option?

I didn't go for the paint as I do not enjoy piano black after previous cars and couldn't really think what other colour to go for that would go with the beige lower, black upper and headlining.

I'm the right side of 40 just, but love wood trim in cars. How weird is that?

I'm the right side of 30, and I much prefer the eBay wood trim kit to the 3M stuff or potential Matt black.

Exactly the same interior colour combination we have in our 325i SE Touring,

Ours isn't quite as clean as yours though smile
