C6 isn't a sensible car for any solution tbh I think that's why I've always wanted one. It's the answer to a question no one asked. biggrin
It's the answer to the question, no one was brave enough to ask, which used to eb Citreon's mantra I think...

"Can we have honest cars that do what the remit/sector suggests"...or in this case

"Can we please have a luxurious cruiser that isn't confused and trying to be a sports car at the same time....a luxury car that is comofortable, advanced, spacious and interesting"

Yes luxourious cruiser is a perfect description.

It does make me sad Citroën have said no more hydractive systems. Hopefully they'll u-turn that decision one day.

C5 V6 3.0 diesel has full Hydractive suspension, does it not? Or have they stopped making it?

I'm always surprised by how much car there is in front of the front wheels on these. Is that noticeable when parking etc or do you just get used to it?

Don't think they did one with 3ltr diesel. There is a 2.7 diesel fitted in the new German looking C5 which you can get with springs or hydroactive (exclusive models). I've just paid a deposit on a 3ltr V6 petrol one from 2005, which is the ugly C5 with a facelift, and hydroactive 3+, same as the C6.

They definitely do, but they are über-rare in the UK. I've never seen more than 2 for sale at once across the whole country.

The 2.7 is more plentiful and also a nice unit.

In the C6 yes, in the C5 no, to my knowledge although happy to be corrected.

Amazing car.

Hopefully I will have one in the future, as I really think that the C6 is quite possibly the most beautiful saloon of recent times.

Exactly the spec and colour combo I would have. Love these cars. Really rare but not surprised. I drove one at launch and loved it (shame about 407 centre stack) but then when you realise it was only about 4K cheaper than the top spec newly launched Jag XF that I ultimately bought it's no wonder it's rare. The ride was awesome though

So today's the days finally was able to collect all my goodies I had ordered from Citroën, well my bonfire has well and truly been pissed off as someone has scraped against my front bumper. :-(

The cars is booked in to have wheels refurbished on Monday, fortunately they are a professional body shop as well so it's been quoted and the whole debacle is going to cost alot more than I had planned. FML.

As a former Avantime owner (and therefore honorary vice president of "the daft french barge owners club" i totally salute you).
Another high point in french automotive design, unappreciated by the masses, much like the avantime it will undoubtedbly be regarded as a future classic.
Please keep us updated on your adventures.

I loved these things when I was at Citroen. Totally focused on being comfy, quirky, different executive barges, and all the better for it.

Yet it was a sales disaster in the UK. Shame really, but good for those who now want a classy very rare car.

Stereotypical "French can't make big cars" prejudices unfortunately, plus people not wanting to spend north of £30k a Citroen.

Shame, as they're one of the most comfortable modern cars imo.

Well she is back! Where did she go? Recently my building anxiety over the state of the alloys and front tyres being low had reaching bursting point so a place was found in Byfleet that could do it. However this being my life, not without a sting in the tail. On returning to my car the other night i was greeted by a fk off scrape on its nose. Incensed I stormed off came back 5 minutes later calm approaching from the other side when i noticed another scrape on the side.

fk my life.

Thankfully wheels approved did a great job and detailed it (useful in this weather..) I also love how it is the polar opposite of the R1, the Ying to its Yang

Decided to call it Briony or Brie for short.

End of line. (You can tell I watched TRON at the week)
