Looking forward to seeing updates on this.

I had a phase 1 VTS, all I did were breathing mods and strut braces. Ran it as a daily for 10 months with no issues then I was slowing in traffic and someone in a L200 didn't see the traffic and ran into it at around 50mph. It was bad.

SSC Forum there's a blast from the past ! yes that was my username on there.

Any pics of the ph2 VTR (VTS) you have ?
The VTR we've got now:

It's my wife's car, she's had it since 2004. It's a silver 99 ph2 (was on a V before the cheesey plate went on) so one of the first ph2s around. Now running full VTS spec except for anti-roll bars and ABS. For some reason it kicks out 134bhp on the dyno. No idea why, the car is came out of was original down to having the factory back box still on it! Also got a 106 GTi leather interior (managed to find a full leather one, rather than half) and a full Magnex exhaust with the VTR tailpipe welded on.

It's been a great car, but it's pretty long in the tooth now, especially seeing as I'm in my early thirties. Ideally I'd be able to park it up and just access it when we both want a laugh in it, but that's not exactly practical. Spend the winter rebuilding the boot and rear arches a couple of years back too - they really do rust! And they're not exactly flying up in value either. I'm sure one day an original early VTS will begin climbing to £3k or so, but I'd be amazed if the VTR followed suit, especially one that's had an engine transplant (though it's a million times better as a car because it of).

This was my old Saxo:

Second in from the right, Icelandic Grey Furio. Only car I've ever bought brand new (never again!) and only had it 18months or so and covered 36,000 miles just in the evenings! We used to drive all over the place in big groups just for fun. Ate 5 gearboxes on the thing. I learned what mechanical sympathy was after that car!

Some of the Saxos really were shocking back in those days! I can see how they got the bad reputation! Everyone needed somewhere to go from Novas and mk3 Fiestas I guess!

Not been many updates due to a stay in hospital....but that did give me the chance to do some online shopping for car bits 😀

The car is currently away with a trusted mechanic to have fitted

Refurbished rear beam
Discs & pads front & rear
Front calipers
Flexi hoses all round
Front wheel bearings
Dampers front & rear
Front springs
Drop links
ARB links
Front suspension arms
Cam belt kit & waterpump

I was hoping to do more of the work myself but simply don't have the energy just now but when it returns I also have

Oil filter
Air filter
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
HT leads

It has a leaky exhaust somewhere which I need to sort then it should hopefully be ready for an MOT

So the cars had a few more odd jobs done to it

As well as the previous mechanical work done I've had the wheels refurbished and a new set of tyres fitted. I've had the front suspension tracked as well and it actually drives like a nice wee car now....although only round the corner lol

I've changed the fluids, plugs and filters. Did a double oil change to try really get any gunk out and added a K&N panel filter. That should be good for an extra 50 bhp lol

I've given the inside a good clean out and fitted a CD player so starting to feel like an everyday car 😄

Unfortunately no mot yet as still to put a new exhaust on it to remedy the old leaky rusty number and the abs light is on which will need to be investigated but added a few update pics I took
