2nd hand working throttle body ordered
Excellent - the challenge has to be to get it past 200k.
thumbup - challenge at the moment is to get it past 181k hehe

Throttle body will be here in a day or two - actually getting a complete inlet manifold with throttle so I'll have a spare manifold on the shelf which can't hurt

Might remove those seats tonight and begin that battle

Love this thread TP,

The naysayers seem not to be able to see past a bit (okay, rather a lot) of dirt and some minor mechanical issues. I see a chance to muck about with something cheap with few consequences and large entertainment potential biggrin

I wouldn't be spending any amount of money, on a Fiat with 180,000 miles.

I will be watching tentatively. This could get interesting drink

Toaster, I find your shed threads fantastically entertaining - but I'm bloody pleased you're the one paying for our entertainment.

Keep the updates coming.

Back seat action

Most bolted down rear seat I've ever seen with 2 at the front and 3 at the rear just holding down that bench bottom bit

Pretty disgusted by the fact someone clearly carted children around in this car - there's crayons under the seats and such

First step while the seats are out - steam clean the dashboard. Not the best photo but it was covered in the filth on the right / top of this wrong way round photo

is there much more work to getting the carpets up? they come up a treat with some degreaser and a good jet washing , then hang up to dry , worth the extra hassle if you can

should make it smell fresh too

Excellent work. I too m pouring money into a worthless piece of crap car and loving every minute of it!

I once picked up an equally nasty interior and cleaned it with a whole 2 spray bottles of vanish diluted in 5 litres of water. Interior came up beautifully, but I didn't wear gloves and all the skin on my palms died!

Don't think it'd be a huge effort but I'd worry about the amount of time they'd take to dry at this time of year

Detailing fanatics that are likely to be offended by dirty trade valeting look away now!

Hit half of the rear seat with my usual treatment for lightly soiled interiors - diluted Flash floor cleaner scrubbed and then sucked/rinsed out with my George carpet cleaner

Needs something stronger (like unleaded and a match) but it's some improvement!!

Super project, I think you could donate that rear seat to an infectious disease research dept. Or take a pressure washer to it!

fk me! I'd have written the car off for the back seat.

I couldn't tell there's blue bits on the seat. Some people are dirty bds

Doing 20+k miles a year in a car so filthy inside amazes me tbh - I'd hate to see their house...

no big deal to put the front seats back in and smoke it about while the carpets dry is it? if the seats are like that the carpets must be hanging

I don't think it starts yet, does it? Therefore carpet drying is the least of the OP's worries hehe
