Every sensible bone in my body says to take it to the bridge but I think sorting it out and keeping it would teach me a longer lasting lesson!

That interior is scary! Has it mostly lived under the sea or to transport dead farm animals? I'd be hitting that with lots of chemicals, lots of steam and maybe fire.

You could make money on this for charity, challenge people to a sponsored sit in the car. Similar to sponsored silence but with the added bonus of inventing a new disease that medical science hasn't yet discovered.
I've never had to jet wash seats before...... I think I might need to this time

I had a Ka which had been a builder's runabout. Took the seats out, soaked them in upholstery cleaner then jet washed them. They came up fabulously in the end but the soud pouring out during the cleaning was quite something else! biggrin

Love this thread, it's my kind of fun smile

Not quite how I'd describe it hehe

Radiator is utterly shot and some of the coolant hoses are questionable so that's on the ever growing shopping list too

Reckon you could make one from a mk2 mx5 fit? If so, there's one here in Leicester I will happily donate mate. smile

laugh appreciate the offer but if I'm going to do it I'm going to do it properly.

Radiator can be had for £37 and that's about the most expensive part I've identified so far!

No worries. I offered as I seem to remember that fiat and Mazda randomly have same or similar radiator sizes.

My mx5 is supercharged, hence I got rid of the stock rad and the upgraded one is a aluminium one meant for a fiat seicento. hehe

Panda radiator has the expansion tank built into it so it's a pretty specific fitment as far as I can tell

Great little cars! One of my mates has one. Dead easy to work on.

With no indication of when it was last changed, the cam belt is on the "to do once it's running" list for sure

Sort it out and keep it, and make another great Readers Cars thread in the process!

I think there's a sticker on the timing cover - unless they put one there at the factory for belt change records to be written on like I've seen now and again

"No, honest, guv, buy this car because it's had a cambelt recently. Look, there's a sticker, an' everyfink..."
<notices pack of cambelt stickers sat on slam panel, slides into pocket>

Break it for parts and weigh the rest in. It won't be worth the hassle to get it running again and chase the faults.

Alternatively, there are enough morons on eBay that I reckon you'd see your money back on there.
