I have to admit since one of my mates got me into Micra's (why i hear you ask) these are the only cars i seem to like to buy and work on. Maybe its because I know the car layout quite well or maybe because they kind of remind me of a Nova in a weird way, which ive had 3 of.

This is my 4th K10 so here it begins.

Travelled a fair way to go and get it 200 mile trip

Tidy on 50k on the standard 1 litre 4 speed
Only rust is on the drivers door otherwise its spotless

Polo 6n coilovers adapted to fit the ten.

Bushes need looking at before fitting

Rubber stops on both rear coilovers are very perished and miss shaped

Rear coilover taken apart for inspection. Could do with a lick of paint really

Looks like a great little project.

I have a similar affliction, with an addiction to old Polo's.

You say 200 mile trip but I think Australia is a bit further than that.

I had one as my first car.
Weirdly fun, you have to really wring it out to get into the "power" band and they do lift off oversteer a bit, on them skinny tyres.

The dual charged "March Super Turbo" would be interesting to have a play with.

That brings back memories. I would have loved a super turbo.

Lovely, had one of these back in my student days so I have fond memories. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see how you get on.

I dont understand why sideways pictures are coming up upsidedown. Hopefully ill be doing a cg13de turbo conversion on this, so might be slightly like a march turbo

Is this loosely based on the nissan cherry n12 body shape?

If so, would it take a e15et engine from one?

Looks sweet man biggrin

Good man, I inherited a 1988 K10 GSX for free as my first car with the 5 speed box. 'Wow!' I hear you say biggrin
Great little car really, I ended up driving it pretty much into the ground. With only 50 horses or so it teaches you how to keep momentum because it's like a hamster pushing a filing cabinet trying to accelerate at any sort of speed. Surprisingly nippy off the line but terrible on drawn out motorway hills. Only problems I ever had were misfiring due to poor quality points burning out, and a clutch exploding at 80mph on the A14 on my way to college one Sunday night. Getting towed back 60 miles behind my dad's Mondeo in what is basically tin foil with an engine was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life!
It failed its MOT after sitting for a year or so on silly things, I ended up selling it on to something of a K10 enthusiast who then ruined it. Probably in a scrapyard by now!

Not to my knowledge, the body won't take anything other than a ma10 or ma12 engine without mounts having to be changed.

Thats a shame, looks in good condition. I am guessing that was a 1.2 then if it came with a 5 speed

Weird you should say that every other GSX or 5 speed I've seen was a 1.2, but nope this was definitely the MA10 1.0, strange!
That was the other issue I had, I bust the 3rd/4th gear synchro hub, apparently a weak point of those boxes.

I passed my test in 1 of these. Lessons were in a metro, and I turned up for my test and the instructor had a new car. It was much easier to drive than the metro luckily, but it did add a little extra pressure to the test! Not seen one around for ages
