I passed my test in 1 of these. Lessons were in a metro, and I turned up for my test and the instructor had a new car. It was much easier to drive than the metro luckily, but it did add a little extra pressure to the test! Not seen one around for ages

My first car/ family car that I learnt in and then started driving in was an H reg 998cc red Micra. 4 speed. Thin rimmed steering wheel. Never could kill the thing. I have to say the japanese reliability was spot on.

Can't think why anyone would want to spend money on one though. Maybe to swap the tape player I had for a more modern unit, but bar that, I can't see it.

S'true, when your shuffling along the A27 to Brighton @ 10 mph, image means zilch. Economy and ease of maintenance is everything. Last car I drove with 4 gears😊. Carb & contact breaker 😉 , service it in your sleep. 50 mpg with a light right foot, cant be beat 😄
