I have an idea for a new grille....

Take a series 3 grille and remove everything including the badge holder and the centre bar and then rechrome it and fit new mesh welding a modern Jaguar badge in the centre....

I am also going to fit a set of bespoke xenon headlights to the front. That gives me the opportunity if I wish to remove the indicators from below the bumper and have them set into the outer headlights. Opinions?
Yes do the indicators as it will clean up the look of the car. You aren't going for a period resto so don't be shy about changing things like that.

Grille is epic, big thumbs up for that.

This is my favourite car on the whole of PH btw so don't let me down winkbiggrin LOL!

Thx, but as much as i love it Jags are where my heart is. I loved my XJ and am in fact tossing up between an XJR or a BMW 3 series (yes I know they are completely different) for my next daily, but I have a feeling the Jag will win out despite it being totally daft and too big.

X350 2005/2006/2007 - I would like an older one but as a daily I have to be sensible.

My 4.2 was an X350 and it was just such a brilliant car. It was also totally and utterly reliable! Got me into Haydock VIP enclosure at a race meeting simply because the concierge assumed I was a VIP due to the car biggrin

Anyway really looking forward to updates as you progress with your coupe. I know it's a pain updating these threads, but please do so when you can as there's a lot of love for your Jag on here.

Yeah the X350 is very nice. Shame they never made a coupe version but that just makes the series 2 even more desirable. Im getting a very good reception for my ideas so far lets see what people think to the finished article!

I went to a JEC event this weekend. I saw this car and thought of your project.

I was originally going to use a similar colour to that but when I decided to make the interior red it changed to black. I like that. Work starts on mine this time next week

I thought the car above looked terrific, and the aubergine colour was lovely. It shifted well too; I watched it do the Prescott hill climb. I recognise that it won't be to everyone's taste, but the work looked to be very good quality and I loved it.

Can't wait to see the in-progress pictures of yours.

Can't remember where - but I'm sure I've seen a woven stainless steel mesh / grill somewhere..

It is rather nasty. No wonder no one else wanted to park next to it!

Does anyone know which model year the gear selector on the XJS changed from the traditional Jaguar T-shifter to a standard gear knob? I would prefer that look on my XJC and I was wondering if the gear stalk that facilitates it is interchangeable as its the same gearbox. Anyone know?

I was initially going to say the May 1991 facelift, but on checking my XJS book I now think it was probably the May 93 final facelift.

Looking to order my headlights as they take 8 weeks to be made. Current H4 setup works with the outers on dip and all on for main beam. It's possible with the new ones to have them all on for dip an all on for main beam but I'm concerned it will be way too bright as they will be 5k HIDs. Opinions?
