In many ways that depreciation compares fairly well to a modern - which is pretty much what it is after all - at this end of the market. The buyer is probably chuffed to bits with it.

There has been a series 2 saloon for sale in that colour in excellent condition for well over a year
Link please?
It appears to be a series 1 actually and is now sold. It was up for about 28k

Yeah guess so. Better than modern I would say. What is a 2007 XJ worth now and they were less than 60k in top spec

craigjm - on a serious note, any thoughts on this (apart from being rude about the colour)? Looks a cracker to me.

ETA to say I first posted it on 25/26 Feb and there was some general discussion then, but not much in the way of specifics on that car.

Rude about the colour? Me?? hehe I think it looks pretty good especially if the dinatrol has done its thing. Suspicious that there are no interior pics. Sounds like good history. Colour is not for me and I'm not a fan of the saloons but looks like a good price.

I love the colour but worry that a saloon might feel a bit dull.

Oh I don't know. Pollybush the suspension and steering and lower it with an XJ restorations handling pack and I'm sure it wouldn't be far off a coupe

Find a swb saloon, stiffer body than a coupe and no wind noise at speed wink

OK, good advice. So, one of these in a fancy 70s colour has now become a must-have. This thread and this company is dangerous!

Hopefully there will be some pics next week of my car in paint
