The best thing for me is that I'm getting all the input and issues and can fully steal/ignore any/all of them!
The vehicle will have its intellectual property protected and any attempt to copy anything will lead to a swift ride in the boot tied up with zip ties on the way to a shallow grave craigjm said:

I am amazed at the level of interest an old Jag having a fortune spent on it has gathered on here
Thank you for the kind words and willingness to give opinions / come up with ideas guys. Finally the more fun parts of the build are starting. It's been testing getting to this point (especially on the wallet!)
Thing is if you look back at all the car marques over the years Jaguar have consistently built beautiful looking cars. They may not have been the best in terms of reliability, innovation or whatever, but looks wise they generally knock all other marques into a cocked hat. When I studied industrial design one of my lecturers had the equivalent of TG's cool wall (long before they thought of it) and on it were 20 Jags and only 1 Merc. As he said in terms of aesthetics the German marque had (and pretty much still is ) always been clueless whereas Jaguar understood the relationship between curves, style and speed in their designs.Thank you for the kind words and willingness to give opinions / come up with ideas guys. Fast forward and here you are taking a beautiful looking Jaguar and fixing the rot and mechanical issues as well as modernising it for current road demands..... what's not to like?
The best project on here IMO!
PS Yes to the louvres - will help with cooling too!
Decided against the bonnet louvres because I think it might clash with the more modern style of the grills and lights etc.
Time to put the car back together and get it painted. Would be nice by the end of September to have a fully rust proofed, rust free, Mercedes Obsidian Black shell to start to play with

I'll be looking at your headlights with great interest!
Within the next few days I should have a mock up of what they will look like. Looks like with the pound diving though they are going to work out at about £900 for the set of 4 craigjm said:
The headlights will look like this. This is the outer unit and you can only see the indicator halo when it is in use. The ones that I will be getting will not have any branding on them unlike the one shown in the pic. I thought the lens pattern was about as close as you could get to what the originals are like. Clear lenses or anything else would look too modern IMO
Love those. Like the ones Singer use. Beefmeister said:

Will improve the drivability of the car at night no end and has allowed me to get rid of the under bumper side markers and indicators I think thats money well spent. Just Another Grand...... thats going to become the strapline to this thread Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
