My choice would be the replica Kents. As subtle as you are going to get.

Those kents are about as subtle as a flying (diamond encrusted) mallet.
Dunlops look okay.

I'm normally a fan of hallibrands or Dunlop's but not sure if either are quite right for your car. They look great on a 60 s GT but given your proposed updates and with the series 3 lights, etc I think something a little more contemporary (70s/80s) would go with the look better.
Needs a photo shop expert to experiment with some wheel choices.
Lovely car,though.
I still have my Corgi XJ12C.......

Cool car! Yes, the wheels need to go, but I have no additional suggestions for the best replacements.

Dont fancy it though
No that car looks pretty bad, but it's more because of the bumpers and skirts.
There's something strangely E24 6-series about it.

But not in a good way, which is odd, because I love both the E24 and all series XJs, especially the coupe.

For the rims - the Dunlops. Definitely.

I'm easy either way about the s3 rear end on it. I probably wouldn't have done that to it myself in the first place, but I wouldn't bother to change back. I really like the mesh grilles, though I'm unconvinced about going brighter. Subtlety...

Not sure about black/off-black - maybe a mid-dark metallic grey?
A bit darker than this, but not massively so.

The Dunlops being 16s would allow me to increase the profile of the tyres too. It's currently on 235/55 17s and the ride is not very wafty

The Dunlop wheels with taller tyres would look bang in period, and sporty without being chavvy or unduly aggressive, as ill befits a Jaaaaaaaag. You may find some real ones on eBay, if you would prefer those to replicas. Triumph GT6s sometimes had them, but I do not know if they are the correct size.

The company that make the replica Dunlops make them for the MGB LE

Another vote for the Dunlops from me. I think the BBS look a bit 'racer' & TBH I've never really liked the Kent wheels

at all. They always reminded me of a pattern a kid had knocked up on a 'Spirograph' (there's another blast from the

past, chaps!)

At first I thought the Dunlops wouldn't suit the Coupe but looking at that photoshopped pic I'd certainly go with them, over the other choices. Original Kents do it for me, always have done but the larger radius version looks a bit odd to my (biased!) eyes. I want a set of Kents on my car now!

Dunlop's

Dunlops all the way. Perfect look for the period of the car.

That looks excellent. Just build that but with your planned fancy modifications.

I like the Dunlops the best but still prefer the original chrome hubcaps. As a compromise, how would chromed Dunlops look?
