Million mile Mondeo Pt2
Discussion
and the plot thickens,
popped into the dealers for a chat and a moan to meet a very sheepish looking service manager.
the gasket that they are waiting on coming into stock. guess whats sitting in the box with the fuel pump
cars going into the workshop this afternoon and should be back with me tomorrow morning for 10am
colour me skeptical but i'm amazed that as soon as question is raised to the ceos office about claiming for hire costs a gasket miraciously appears.
my moneys on a tube of hermatite and a cornflakes box lol

thanks Ford I wish i'd spent the money on an Insignia instead
No you don't-Vauxhall customer care is beyond shocking. To be fair-as an ex Citroen service manager their customer care is decent-they do put the afterburners on anything the customer depends on for a living and are generally half reasonable when it comes to considering "out of the ordinary" costs, even if their warranty states they won't cover them.

at least Vauxhall acknowledge gearboxes should be treated as a consumable and keep them in stock To be fair-as an ex Citroen service manager their customer care is decent-they do put the afterburners on anything the customer depends on for a living and are generally half reasonable when it comes to considering "out of the ordinary" costs, even if their warranty states they won't cover them.

Pretty sure it hadn't even managed 75K - so in the 4 years he'd done 25K in loan cars whilst it was being fixed
He got a Citroen and despite a few issues he still says it's a million times more reliable than the insignia
back where she belongs,
on another note just had ford CEOs office on the phone telling me i'll get the car back this afternoon
I did enquire whether they would be willing to contribute towards my hire taxi costs and got rebuffed, its not something they would entertain as its outwith their control. Maybe its just me but ford are the ones that have thinned their supply chains right down to the bare bones and not keeping parts in stock either at a dealer or national level. I could appreciate that if I asked for parts for a 1973 mk3 Cortina but a current model Mondeo which shares the required parts with umpteen other models in the range is just not acceptable.
Overall I lost 2 weeks due to delays in the car being diagnosed then a further 2 weeks faffing about waiting on parts. I've rented another vehicle to get by and after being told that I wouldn't get the car back until the 10th April I've committed to an extended rental leaving me well out of pocket.
Thanks Ford for absolutely nothing As most people on here will know I love my Mondeos to an unhealthy extent and have happily extolled the virtues but when the cars are backed with service this poor its time for me to look elsewhere.

Would social media work for, or against you?
Little point as its already being dealt with by fords CEO office so cant go any further up the chain.just really dissapointed at the lack of care. maybe I should put my sad face on and find out the value of my house
and contact the daily mail

I guess if you're still paying to hire the Berlingo then you'll be using that for work and not putting the miles on the Ford for now?
sensible move is to get the Mondeo back in action and see if it breaks. at least if it breaks while the berlingo is still here i'm covered.that and i'm sure some of my punters would rather walk than get in the berlingo
