Sad, but as you said, needed.

PC write-up was cool. thumbup

Re Pierre, if you want to send him to the continent, he can have some pics taken at local landmarks: appy to do so!
My nephew did a similar project for school when he was about 8 and living in Illinois. His bear went to Canada, Norway, UK, Luxembourg, Australia, NZ & Argentina before it got home, whilst his classmates managed maybe a few U.S States! laugh

Cheers chaps.

Hope it's gone to a good, sympathetic owner?

Looking forward to the BX updates! smile

Mmmmm....perhaps the AX still has some way to go collecting 'legendary' points:

Well, it's sad times on the south coast (and not because it's 32degC either!)

The AX has left for pastures new. A chap called Chris became the new owner on Sunday and some of the plans he has for the car are quite exciting. I believe a (well deserved) respray is on the agenda.

Mixed feelings my end. Relieved (as I'd gone from not needing to sell it to I could actually do with selling it), but mostly gutted it's gone, as I loved just hopping in it and going for a quick spin round the Meon Valley. It was always game, never put a foot wrong and always put a smile on my face. I made the mistake of driving it to Kent a couple of weeks ago, which was mostly dual-carriageways and motorways....it's not an enjoyable car on long trips! But otherwise, it was great to just hop in and drive off, and I'll miss it for that. We've still got a Saxo in the household which has a bit of history behind it, so maybe I'll do a blog on that one day. I know I've got some big overhauling jobs coming up on it!

The AX GT is now residing in and around the Blackburn area, so if you see it about, give it a wave and the new owner can drive off wondering who that mental person waving at him is!

In the meantime, I'm waiting for the Autocar it'll feature in to be released....

Over and out frown

Thanks for taking the time - I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread and I'm glad to hear it's gone to a good home.

Now, how about that BX? wink

Just read the Autocar article: a really good write up. Sad the car is gone now though!

Yeah I just heard the Autocar version had landed. Had a quick look, and will now spend the next 5 weeks crying into a pillow because they got the kerb weight wrong....by a fair amount hehe

Epic thread!

I owned one back in the mid Nineties , white , H68 CSP. I wondered if it were still around. Great fun . I fitted a Pipercross foam element to the top of the carb , it was fine until the cold weather hampered the running . Icing up of the carb i believe?

It was light and fun , teeny tacho , i think the headgasket went shortly after i sold it.

Great car though , and very comfortable.
Hi mate, just thought you’d like to now,
I owned H68 CSP in 2005-2006!
My sister had an AX GT and I absolutely fell in love with it and had to own one!

So I found one for sale in inverkiething fife..
Guy wanted £250 for it ...my mate stuck £100 under the vendors nose on account of a smashed windscreen.

I took it home then and there and within an hour it had a new windscreen.
Two drive shafts and a sump later it was up and rocking!

I should add at this point that some clown had removed the original spoiler and fitted some home made alloy thing...
I found a guy in Alloa selling an original so off I popped to buy it.
I met the guy in a supermarket car park, bought the spoiler and proceeded to fit it....
It’s at that point I discovered the spoiler bolts hold on the boot lid!

It’s plus points is it had a very nice exhaust on it, a set of compomtives and a rather minging pipercross filter!

I fitted a new k&n and cleaned the thing up and had (in my opinion) the greatest hot hatch ever!

I LOVED the thing!

Unfortunately a change of circumstance in 2005 meant I had to let it go and I sold the car to a total weirdo in Coulross, he did give me the full £750 I wanted for it though!
I notice the car was never re taxed though and have often wondered what happened to it.

Yes I still have the magazine. It was all a bit much really that AX - what kind of idiot spends that much on one? It even had Racelogic switchable traction control in the end. Errrrm.

This was my favourite touch on it though

I'd love another more standard one but without a garage currently that just isn't an option sadly. That and another Visa GTI but that's even less likely.....
